Huddersfield tickets

It's commendable how you are continuing to push a point which has no legs, have you considered a career in politics?

It's a horribly elitist view that because you are in circumstances where you can have/can afford a season ticket you should control who else gets a ticket.

Your friends and family could have 'invested' in the club by buying a membership and attending 5+ this season. Almost every game has gone to general sale.

I can't even remotely see your point of view and I think it's an unnecessary benefit that you even get any priority to buy additional tickets over general sale.

Just interesting to understand the views of a ST holder as someone who doesn't live locally so is a bit more challenged in getting tickets.

Thanks for responding sensibly!

By your notion though, someone who hasn't been to a game all year but is mates with a ST holder should be able to get a ticket over someone who is willing to put £40 into the club to buy one ticket.

Not trying to be argumentative, I'm just not sure anyone should get to decide who gets tickets over someone else. You pay for a ST and a membership for you and it gives certain privileges to you. I don't think, personally, you should then be a route into someone else getting a ticket who hasn't paid for these privileges.

Can anyone explain this season ticket point to me?

A ST holder already has their seat, so they are only buying for someone who doesn't fit into the top two priority brackets.

Not sure why they should get priority over someone who has paid for membership (I know they have paid for a ST, but this is for them and for their seat).

Seems to be a common issue from ST holders, like they should get to choose who attends.

Coventry ticket bought... not many left (n/t)
at 11:26 15 Apr 2024

Because you're having to buy two matches at once and it's an absolute scramble going between the two matches. If it was staggered by even a day it would have been easier.

If I went to buy Hull first today I probably would have missed out on the Coventry tickets which were sold out in two minutes.

Also the Hull match would have taken me to the next priority bracket which would have made getting a Coventry ticket easier - but that one is specific to me.

Ridiculous that they both went on sale at the same time...

But Hull and Coventry both purchased, can't wait! Although a lot of football to happen before then.

I might have a spare, I’ll know in the next half an hour. Do you need to know before then?

Personal season highlights

Maybe not a conventional choice but the 2-0 win at Boro. A notoriously tough place for us to go and a time where I started to believe we had a genuine chance of going all the way.

A second would probably be Bristol City last week when my wife text me from upstairs asking 'what the hell was that' after I had shrieked at the winner. Not sure it's a noise I could repeat if I tried.

Anyone else seeing a lot of parallels with tonight's game and Barnsley v Sheff Weds last year?

Similar time, although the Barnsley game was maybe a few weeks on. Barnsley the in-form team flying along and Wednesday had wobbled from a 10(ish) point lead at the top.

At one point I had all but conceded the league to Wednesday and was aiming for second but this game turned it all around and they suddenly looked more than catchable, whilst Barnsley looked a real threat.

I know Leeds are already an immense threat to us, I guess what I'm saying is that maybe Leicester are the ones to catch and tonight could be a similar turning point like that game was last year.

Leicester have a lot of parallels with Wednesday - top but getting on the manager's back. Not happy with style of play etc. It's not a long stretch to see them completely implode.

Seeing McKenna launch that water bottle into the dugout, when the pen was given
at 11:25 21 Feb 2024

There was a couple of particularly bad ones that stand out from memory where he seemed to just not want to give them and had to be corrected by the other officials.

One where Moore got clattered in the air from a high ball and the fourth official had to pull him up on it and tell him it was a foul.

He's inept at best, corrupt at worst.

Town / Norwich at Wembley - How would it work?
at 11:54 19 Feb 2024

I think this hoodoo always gets overplayed, obviously by them.

We haven't beaten them for a long time, we know that, but they've only beaten us twice in the last seven encounters.

Or twice in nine years, as they like to put more favourable stats to their claims.

If we beat them at CR - then we can start claiming they haven't beaten us for over five years. It all changes pretty quickly!

Football Cards

Panini and Topps cards - cards ranging from about 2018 - present at the moment is what I've got.

Got a couple of autographed ones, a few numbered ones.

Football Cards
at 09:46 20 Dec 2023

I've recently dipped my toe into collecting football cards, saw a bit of hype and thought I would get involved.

Not in it to try and make money - but I got a few cards from a box break stream and wondered if anyone can give some advice on dos and don'ts?

Also how to value the cards as it seems a minefield unless one has recently been sold somewhere. I.e. got a /50 card, but can't see any guide to value on it.

Anyone else think...
at 10:54 13 Dec 2023

The pressure is on Narwich on Saturday?

The decade undefeated is all they're clinging onto at this stage, they're fearing a loss coming into it and it seems to mean everything to them.

We've got the confidence and belief in what we do at home to not have to feel any pressure. The worst case scenario is that we lose...not the end of the world. Give them the victory their season is depending on and we move on with bigger things ahead of us, comfortably still sat in the top two.

We are yet to beat a team by more than one away from home
at 09:43 7 Nov 2023

Which is by no means a moan, they've been excellent away performances.

After draws at Hudds and Brum now, it would be really nice to have a really comfortable win and just keep the momentum rolling.

It will be an interesting test for Ashton….

A genuine question - if getting tickets won't be an issue (and hasn't seemingly been much of an issue so far this season) then why are they doing it?

Not one person who I have seen doing it has been able to actually answer this question.

Is it because they're doing it for attention and to maximise their own priority? Can't see any other reason 'helping fans get to games' isn't making a lot of sense if availability isn't an issue.

I went to away games last season (and every season before since I've been going) and have enough points for it not to be an issue for me.

Doesn't mean that we should just accept what is happening though, same as because it happens at big clubs in the Premier League it shouldn't be justification for it being okay.

Helping your mate out is one thing and I don't think anyone cares about that on the odd occasion but the handing out of memberships on social media to complete strangers for their own gain is wrong and makes the whole system pointless.

If the club allows it to get to that point then we'll have to get on with it, but nothing wrong with asking them to nip it in the bud. Everyone has the right to support their team and the membership system is the fairest way to do that.

I did that on Twitter and just got piled on, which worked perfectly to be fair because it's brought the issue even more to the forefront for a lot of fans and it puts pressure on the club to do something.

So a big thanks to those abusing the system who have helped me out.

Think you've summed it up pretty well here, it's being done for personal gain and the determent of others.

It's a blatant abuse and the club needs to do something sooner rather than later before it gets out of hand.
