Have to agree.

Lets not forget that Mick was driven out of this club, not solely based on results, but because of the style of football and wanting something entertaining to watch.

This is the brief Cook has been given, along with going up. To build a culture of attractive and exciting football and winning takes time.

For me, Cook is the right man. I have been around clubs he has managed in the past and there are a lot of parallels to be seen in terms of the style of play and the squad he builds. They were successful teams.

It feels far off at points, but we've got it right at one end of the pitch. Individual errors are costing us at the back.

We were all happy to forgive him/the team for the first 10 games of the season. We can't now turn that back on them, without those games we would be right up there in the play-off mix.

Two pennies worth from someone who was actually at Sunderland
at 08:41 21 Nov 2021

Interesting to see the people think Sunderland are the benchmark because I personally thought they were pretty poor.

We cut them open so many times but lacked that final ball or that bit of creativity.

They didn’t threaten at all which makes the goal even worse to take, Walton’s fault but we lose the man at the back post too so not all on him.

Still think there’s plenty of positives to take, genuinely thought we played really well in every aspect other than the most important part in the final third!

Definitely no need to panic like some are.

Is this season a write-off already?
at 22:35 20 Nov 2021

Look at how close we were to the play-offs last season despite being awful.

There’s obviously been frustrations this season but other than Celina and Bonne everyone is tied down and I can only be incredibly excited about what next year can bring.

Imagine if we hadn’t had those first ten games, we would be up there.

Definitely more reason to be excited and positive going forward.

Your take on this situation is awful, that’s common knowledge.

Anyone know how many we are taking to Sunderland?
at 08:46 16 Nov 2021

Think if you look at the seats which have been sold online then it's just over 2,000 at the moment.

Only a handful left, be great to get it sold out.

Who doesn't love a weekend in Newcastle?!

Only issue being that I live in Lincoln so can’t just take it back to the ticket office.

Sunderland Ticket Available

Hi guys,

I’ve got an adult ticket spare for the Sunderland game:

I know it’s not quite sold out yet but if anyone was looking for one in block 30 (which is sold out).

Face value - £27.50

Can meet at the game to hand it over.

Burns’ Disallowed Goal

Thought at the time it looked quite tight but wasn’t many complaints.

Just watched the highlights and pausing it when Bonne flicks it on it looks pretty tight, possibly even onside.

Big moment in the game.

Couldn’t agree more. Scully is the biggest threat Lincoln have and Donacien had him all day long and kept him quiet.

Thought Carroll was very good first half, pulled the strings in the middle.

Celina and Bonne partnership looked promising first half, Bonne always looks such a threat. Faded second half but that’s just the way the game went.

Really good first half performance and dug in brilliant second half. Burgess having to go left back was a blow because that looks like a brilliant centre back partnership.

Lots of promising signs.
Big three points and some really positive signs.

One thing press speculation, another thing the club coming out and saying it.

Especially as there will be players who don't go, so there's no point killing them off in public when they're going to be with us.

This is one of the most unrealistic hopes I have seen, which says a lot for this board.

We have to trust the people and trust the process. There's not much they can say with being respectful to those players and because even those that have been told can leave doesn't mean they will.

We don't want to show our hand to other teams either, just let them get on with it behind the scenes and trust.

Absolutely, he would have been part of the team that brought him in at Bristol so depends if he like what he saw.

He's only 27 and was very prolific earlier in his career before joining Bristol City so could loosely fit that bill!

A lot of talk about who we would want and it's obviously one of the key positions we need to fill with a couple of signings before August.

What about Mo Eisa from Peterborough? They've put him up for sale, only bought for £1.3m so won't be silly money.

Assume he would have played at Bristol City when Ashton was there too?

Started really well when he joined P'boro just lost his way, think he would be a really good signing.

Absolutely this.

There's a real fine line for owners, I hope they are getting some really good advice. Maybe from Ashton and O'Leary.

It's easy now whilst it's new and the feelings are high to interact with fans but you can't keep that up but you also can't just then go quiet if things aren't going well that won't be accepted.

I'm not sure I'm keen on fans having direct access to the owners, we all know the stupid stuff that can get said. But that's just my opinion, I've seen it go wrong before.

There has already been the mistake, although recognised, of talking about the money they have.

Hopefully Ashton and O'Leary are the men to utilise their communications in the best way.

For me, owners pay the bills and that's all I want from them. I would rather hear from Ashton and O'Leary and I hope they are left to run the club.

Ipswich fans: Directly criticise (tagging them in) everything the players do.

Also Ipswich fans: I can't believe these players aren't performing.

Obviously not the majority, but a really annoying bunch of people with apparently no self-awareness.

If the Yanks are data-driven...

But this is what I mean, there's some weird media propaganda on their approach and I don't really know why. There's loads of articles that make it seem like they do more than anyone else and I don't think they do.
I live in Lincoln and there is no doubt that they did an amazing job there. But, it's another big PR job it wasn't all happy happy in their time at Sincil Bank, plenty of rumours about behind the scenes attitudes.

I don't get this weird storyline that goes with the Cowleys about their analysis.

Every team does analysis and does it in-depth, the media just seemed to make a big thing about them doing it in the FA Cup run like no one else did it and they lapped it up.

I remember one journalist talking about walking past their office and they were watching the opposition's previous game and he couldn't get over how impressive that was.

They don't do any more than any other team do.

Portsmouth fan review of Paul Cook
at 10:43 1 Mar 2021

I was there on the day that Pompey won the League Two title at Meadow Lane and they were a really good team.
Not only that, but it was clear the relationship he had with the players and that is what we need the most.
We have quality in this squad, enough quality to go up, we need someone to bring that all together and not just with tactics.
I know it's easy for things to look good when they're going well but from that day I've followed what he's done and I've said for a long time that he would be perfect for what we need and I really hope he does come in.
He's more relatable, hasn't played or managed big clubs and will just get on with the job. Perfect time to build some momentum.
