Mental Health and the Return of Football
at 12:41 28 Oct 2020

I have always found the clocks going back to be the most depressing time of year, the onset of winter if you will. In recent weeks I have found my mood has dropped a little, my diet has deteriorated, it is difficult to keep self motivated, this year more than ever. No winter holiday to look forward to, unable to do my usual voluntary work.

This week I have signed up for a few exercise classes. I know that does me good, and I instantly feel better about myself. I am meeting a friend tonight for food that I haven't seen in ages. Little things and it doesn't have to be a big expense.

It is just about structure, getting into a routine, connecting with people on any level, making sure you eating healthy etc and sticking to it. It sounds like you have all the answers already, it is just about putting it into practise and sticking to it.

Anyone else struggle with Autumn?

I love autumn. The best time of year for rare birds turning up. You can actually see them as well as unlike spring, there aren't any leaves on the trees.

Option
at 07:18 18 Aug 2020

Sharkey - Yes this option seem common place at Ipswich now, well apart from in management that is ;-)

All the power is with the club so effectively a 1 year contract becomes 2 if the club want it. A good way of protecting the players from being pinched from under our noses but also reduces our commitment if they turn out to be duds.

Just started watching the documentary on the iplayer. Nice piece on Sergei. To think he was the first player from the USSR to play overseas. We were such pioneers when it came to scouting at that time weren't we. So sad how things have changed. Loved how the commercial department at ITFC arranged to get Sergei and his family a sponsored car and got him a Lada.

Car people: Would you buy a cheap Honda civic?
at 09:14 2 Aug 2020

I will just echo what others have said. My honda civic is 18 years old now, so reliable, never had any major problems with it and as the boys at the garage keep telling me, it wont be the engine that fails.

We are a family of 5
at 12:47 29 May 2020

This question just came up on Radio 2. The figure of 6 basically came from the stereotypical family of 4 visiting 2 grandparents but of course not every family fits into this mould. The answer given was basically yes as your situation is still in the spirit of the new guidelines. What they are still looking at preventing is gatherings of around 30 etc as you are then into parties, wedding numbers etc. Ideally you would have a tag system where you are not all outdoors and in the same space at the one time.

Travel dilemma
at 09:48 27 May 2020

I appreciate there have been similar posts to this in recent weeks so hoping someone here may have some good advice.

We were due to fly with Emirates on 30/6 but the flight has now been cancelled. We have been offered a full refund but not the tax paid ( Is this right?) or a voucher valid for 2 years but then taking the risk that Emirates survive of course. Neither situation ideal.

Anybody have any suggestions? Try using chargeback on the card? Try contacting the airline direct? The booking is in my friend's name so I'm limited as to what I can do.

Not sure if this has already been suggested but wondering if they could re run commentaries of some classic town games such as the play off final for younger fans?

Sell on fee for Bart

Not seen anyone mention it yet but don't we owe some money to Notts County or was that in the event of getting promotion within a set number of years? I cant remember the terms of the original deal when he signed but I recall there being some conditions

With so many long term and continual injuries to certain players like Bishop perhaps a squad rotation is not a bad strategy at all for the long term benefit of theae players

How about the old James Beattie one to the tune of Chitty, Chity Bang Bang.

Jimmy Norwood, Jimmy, Jimmy Norwood

Not sure how the rest of it goes but it scans.

You have Nolan twice and you have missed Keane but I take your point.
