Absolutely spot on here with player management. Any fan who thinks he's going to be ready for the team straight away needs to seriously readjust their expectations. The guy needs time to adapt to a new team, new country, new playing style etc. bow er as KmL said if he performs ahead of schedule then he will play. Let's not build up a young player too early only to rip him down when he doesnt live up to the unfair too early expectation placed on him. |

Those moaning about loans really need to think about it. The ones we currently have on loan all have an option to buy, should we get promoted. A cheaper way to get quality footballers without the longer term commitment should we fail to be promoted. Makes perfect sense to me. Why overcommit, especially as we've just got relegated and dealing with income shrinkage.
It may not be s3xy as dropping 20 mil on a player but it's the right thing to do, all championship clubs tend to do it |

Reflecting on the move is interesting. Had he not moved would his career have been any better? Moving to City probably secured his future due to wages etc though it lead to a stagnation in her career. Town were on the slide when he left. OliveR16 - I get the frustration on the transfer fee, he is worth more. However if the stories are to be believed, if we didn't offer that clause then he would have gone elsewhere. Southampton were close to signing him. In fairness to Delap he has protected himself (and bet on himself to perform) and we've doubled our investment in less than 12 months. Overall it's not ideal but it's very harsh to say Ashton and the club have muffed this up |
