experience the "wonderful beverages" on offer at half time ! It is really noticeable how many seats empty for 5-10 mins before and after half time me to sample these delicacies!..... in a 15 min window!
For me yesterday a pre match visit to greggs was more than enough with a beer to wash it down and loosen the vocal chords ....
Yesterday I was quite happy with the way the game was going until that period just before half time.... and we could justifiably claimed that we could have sneaked ahead..... that would have changed the whole atmosphere ( which was already pretty flat) and given the whole team a lift and we'd all be saying how brilliantly we managed the half...
What we didn't do was at around 35-40 was take our Martinez " time out"!... we needed a proper 2-3 min stoppage to manage that final 10 mins of the half.
I swear if we'd gone in at 1-1 then we'd have all been quite happy, I was saying at that point I thought we didn't deserve to be behind at half time.
Going in losing means you're only 1 cock up from losing complete control and that's exactly what happened.
As a footnote the style we are trying to continue to play is missing Woolfie imo.... we've got to get him back involved and if it means dropping a right back and playing a three then so be it.
Seen one that cuts off at that precise moment.... btw that was class keeping that chant going for that long... on reflection if at the point KM had his arm round Sam's shoulder it had morphed into Waka Waka I think I would have burst into tears!
After they went 3-1 up and we were obviously I disarray at that point, Omari sat down in the centre circle snd delayed KO simply to allow a McKenna huddle with the rest of the team... it was vitally important in our regroup although yeah we could have shipped another couple first half but it allo us to clear our heads somewhat...... My point is MAYBE that should have happened when we went 1 up as if the players heads were half as giddy at that point as mine then was it was obviously a recipe for individual errors to occur.
Usually guff from worldwide experts ... one just got me.. simply Small Club.... And that ( even if true) matters why , I doubt any Premier League fan supporting any club however successful will have experienceda summer like we just have and the excitement of the last two years.
that it took a significant step up in quality for Liverpool to get the better of us..... a good chunk of the the Premier League won't all be able to do this in more than short bursts..
However we will always have to be close to our best but overall I am optimistic KM has the nous to allow us to achieve our no1 aim!
Exactly the time KM would be freshening things up and sending on his finishers.... took till the 80th odd minute for GS to get the reinforcements on but fair play he finally done it... absolutely the best time for England to score... if it has come early in that 2nd half I reckon they would have dropped off and allowed the Dutch to retrieve the game
Anyway...well done England, credit where it's due!
