Interesting article but an odd conclusion. As far as i can see, this sort of run leads to a sacking or relegation or both. In the only instance it didn't (Ferguson's 12th), the decline continued and we ended up relegated in a subsequent season. |

I stopped reading when you classed Royle above Magilton.
In 2005 Royle left us in our worst position for 40 years with an extremely weak squad, Magilton took over and started wheeling and dealing to generate money instead of moaning that he had none and got us into a mid-season play-off position to make us an investable club. |

Can't see a place for him in the team. Leadbitter is our best player and Garvan is the only one who can the pass the ball.
Another good example of the lop-sided squad we have, right-sided players playing on the left, plenty in centre-midfield, lots of similar forwards who all like ball to feet but have no aerial presence and can't score. |
