 | Forum Reply | Birmingham sold out 10 minutes into 25+ bracket. at 15:31 22 Jul 2025
There were folk on here saying that being a Friday night, etc it would get to 20+, maybe even 15+ - was never gonna happen. There will be close to 2k who went to almost every game last season - so unless we get large allocations like Preston & Blackburn most away games will sell out at stages 1 or 2. |

While our "first 11" looks good - even without Omari - we are definitely short in terms of the bench. Also, Burns, Szmodics, Ogbene, Philogene & Harry Clarke have all been out for some time - who knows what level they will be at? Momentum is a big thing, we started brilliantly last time in the Championship and never looked back. It also allowed us to have a small 'wobble' in Dec / Jan, but if we start poorly we may never gain the momentum required to get a top2 spot. We also play 2 of the likely rivals for automatics early on, in Birmingham and Southampton, I wouldn't like to go into those games without having done most / all of our transfer business. |

Had this already been a rule then the oft seen clip of the Leicester vs Watford play-off semi final goal would never have happened. A ridiculous proposal. |
 | Forum Reply | 12.30 kick offs next season at 13:17 8 Jun 2025
Staying north of the border, a 12.30 home game on a Saturday will mean leaving at 3am or staying over somewhere like Doncaster on the Friday night. Northern away games at that time pose less of a problem! Guaranteed first game will be Portsmouth away with a 12.30ko... |

30+ can only be a maximum of c1300 people because of the low allocation at Bournemouth, and only c1700 on 29 as a result of low allocation at Brentford. However, I would guess that there will be a huge number of people between 25 and 28 given most allocations were c3000. If we start sales with 30+, then 25+ there is going to be one hell of scramble in that second window when most allocations will be nearer 2000. |

His FB page - assuming it is him - has been amended from "Striker at Ipswich Town FC" to "Striker at Chelsea FC"... |

PL has a squad cap of 25 senior (over 21) players. I would go further - I would have a maximum number of senior players that any club could sign / own, maybe 30 to allow for injuries - but that extra 5 would also be the maximum number of senior players that a club could loan out. That would mean the bigger clubs couldn't hoard players and should mean more players available to sign for other clubs, it might even reduce the transfer fees with less clubs vying for the same players. |

While I wish Delap well I will continue to hope Chelsea lose every single match they play in between now and eternity. Cannot stand them. |

 | Forum Reply | PL - 2 tiers at 22:22 21 Apr 2025
Rather than a PL2 I reckon we will see a reduced 16 team PL - which becomes a closed shop through using play-offs to determine any promotion relegation. Bottom team plays winner of the Championship - and we know that the money would mean the PL would be massive favourites. The big clubs want less fixtures - so they would love a 30 game league season. That would allow them to expand Euro competitions - or play more glamour friendlies in Saudi, etc - so they could hoover up even more money. While this is Town's first season in the PL for 22 years it's clear that things have moved on - and not in a good way. Finished 5th last time promoted - does anyone see a Champ side having that kind of first season in the PL again? Nowadays you are marked as cannon fodder straight away! |
 | Forum Reply | 92/92 today… Bromley v Morecambe at 10:31 18 Apr 2025
Well done on that! My son (12) and I have completing the 92 as a long term goal, we'll be on 60 after Town have been to Goodison - but that will then drop back when Everton leave there and when Morecambe get relegated! All with Town other than a random trip to Barrow last international break. We did consider Carlisle today but as they'll likely join Morecambe in being relegated we decided not to bother. |
 | Forum Reply | Is top level footy becoming a bit unwatchable? at 11:31 17 Apr 2025
It's very noticeable that teams are reluctant to cross the ball - I assume because they are likely to lose it in a 50/50 challenge in the air. Chelsea got the ball wide so many times on Sunday only to stop and pass the ball backwards. Equally teams seem reluctant to shoot from distance, even when things appear to open up, because again they will likely lose possession. So more sideways and backwards passes ensue. It's almost as if goals don't count unless the ball is walked into the net. |
 | Forum Reply | Delap... at 16:00 15 Apr 2025
I suspect that the 2026 WC is a big blow for our hopes of keeping Delap. If he stays there is zero chance of him making the squad, just cannot see a Championship striker being picked. He needs to be playing the PL, or move to one of the big clubs in Italy / Spain / Germany to have any chance. |
 | Forum Reply | Leicester losing already (n/t) at 20:57 7 Apr 2025
This is SKY's main event on a Monday night and it's an absolute turkey shoot in a half empty stadium - a waste of time for anyone tuning in. However, that's what the PL has become as far as the promoted sides are concerned and I don't see it improving any time soon. SKY cannot be happy showing games like this? |
 | Forum Reply | I see Chelsea made a big profit after selling their women's team at 21:25 31 Mar 2025
What's to stop them buying the women's team back for 50p next financial year before selling them again to the same subsidiary the following season for £200m. Rinse & repeat every 2 seasons? Just use the women's team as a way to for the owners to inject vast sums of money into what would otherwise be a massive loss making men's team. |
