You can accept that one or two signings don't quite work out but a combination of a quicker than expected promotion to the premier league, a non-existant international scouting network (due to years of underinvestment) and some rather poor domestic acquisitions has left us in a precarious position. The current bottom 3 teams are going down, their goal differences show how far they are away from competing in this league.
Plymouth's man marking didn't give us the usual time and space to play our passing game. We lacked composure and someone to take on a player or two. Having said that we had the better of the chances.
I like the idea of a marquee signing being unveiled in the new kit... double whammy to get the supporters excited and boost season ticket sales further.
