Romford's racing preview - Cheltenham Festival 2019 - Day 1
at 18:35 12 Mar 2019

I've thought about this a lot today and I think I'm in the same place.

Such a really weird line to draw in moderation, but it is your site and your rules and so I ought to find something else to do.

So, I'd like the delete function please as well.

Particularly if some idiot drills into the moon's inexplicably explosive core ;)

Get inside!

There's yet to have been a measurable single solar flare which on its own, with exposure on the moon would likely result in death, but there's been 400 rem flares measured which would mean you'd probably need a bone marrow transplant reasonably early if caught outside unshielded in it. These are reduced by a factor of around ten in shielded spacecraft.

A CAT scan is around 1 rem, for context.

Have you ever been eating during a pre match minutes silence

To draw this thread which I have enjoyed more than most to a satisfying circle, during their minutes' silence, imagine someone ate a Portman pie (which probably contains part of them)

The ISS is within the earth's magnetic field so is actually shielded way better than the moon, which isn't.

As an aside, what the LRO which discovered the moving water is doing, is measuring the radiation on the moon over a period of time exactly to understand how we could shield longer term visitors and how long term they should be.

Solar flares are terrifying. Our warning instruments sometimes give us much less than an hour's notice to astronauts. I'd love to go into space one day but the risks are incredible outside of just getting there and back.

I came to the realisation that some politicians (JRM, Trump) have worked out that eventually people see through a façade but if there is no façade people will create one for them.

It boils my p1ss that so many of the proletariat support this haunted pencil.

The Analrectum is still there, on High Street, isn't it? Arbor House or something it's called now.

The Silent Female / Angry Men's Retreat ep in S1 is one of my favourite sitcom episodes of the 21st century.

I wonder if he's done any reflecting on his tenure, but it does annoy me that the media seem to think we had the financial ability to fire him.

I still don't understand why you are making such a cold point about mortality, but over and above that, do you realise you are asking if the NHS is better at treating pneumonia than a Syrian refugee camp?

It is really very good.

The BBC are treating it better because they didn't really do enough to promote the first series.

No, I mean the country. It isn't just the government who have had some vile views on punishing a baby for the sins of their parents.

It's all thoroughly distasteful and makes me ashamed. I spent some time working to try and stop what Begum got exposed to, it is deeply insidious and I'll never do anything but despise it, but equally having done that (not for long I'll admit as it was extremely emotionally harrowing) I do like to think I understand how much how the way our government has handled this really helps the recruitment process.

Shameful.
