Gills Linked With Pigott

Clearly has goals in him? Aside from about 1 decent season for Wimbledon he’s barely scored any. Looked terrible for us and League 2 is probably about his level.

Hirst: To Be Reunited With the Boys is an Amazing Feeling
at 13:03:28

Great to have him back, such an impressive loan spell from him last season. Not just his goals but the work rate, movement, link up play etc. A perfect number 9 in our system and it'll be interesting to see how he handles the Championship.

Town Closing in on Bialkowski
at 09:50:23

I think he'll be a good signing, I can see him going on to win POTS with us if he fulfils his potential. We might even go on to make a profit on him if he does well and a club like Millwall come in for him.

Welcome to Ipswich Bartosz.

Town to Face Luton in Friendly at Colchester
at 11:45:08

It's a good to play Luton and Preston, the teams that finished 3rd and 12th last season. It'll be good for the coaches to see these teams up close and get a feel for how equipped we are for the level.

McKenna: There Will Be Movement Both Ways
at 19:59:29

We have too much cover in the middle so surely 1 of Evans or Camara will go. Pigott definitely, has he even come back for pre season training?

El Mizouni, Baggott and Humphreys might all go out on loan.

Then I wouldn't be surprised if a couple go out of Jackson, Harness, Donacien.

So maybe 4 ‘senior' players out and 3 kids on loan. That would give us the room to bring a few in.

Dyer Joins Chesterfield Staff
at 19:57:20

I can see it from his point of view as well. A local lad who has done an awful lot for the club over the years. We shouldn't forget it was Dyer who put his hand in his own pocket at times to help the academy when Evans wouldn't. He's probably a bit bitter that the new owners came in and overlooked him for other roles, especially when McGreal was given the caretaker job.

Not saying Dyer was ready for that or that it's not right that we've all moved on but he must feel a bit put out. Either way I hope he goes on to do something in management and gets an opportunity somewhere. Really good bloke who is often misrepresented in hearsay.

Knight on Town Radar as Blues End Taylor Pursuit
at 10:50:49

We've left Peterborough for dead, we can barely see them in our rear view mirror anymore. I don't really like their owner or how they go about their business, I'm quite happy for us to move on from Taylor. They're the ones that need the money and now have an asset who only has a year left on his contract. Should've taken the £2m in January. Oh well.

McCarthy Still Looking For Signings
at 14:21:17

Interesting. I'm not knocking MM, he's done a great job so far but it's a shame the position we have found ourselves in has forced such short-termism. As i said, not MM's fault at all, his priority has to be to get points on the board, and quickly, we cant afford to think about much else right now. It would be nice to get back to a position where we can afford to be favouring players like Whight, Hyam and Loach over loanees and quick fixes like Henderson, Youga and Reo-Coker who are essentially their direct competition.

Hopefully with a few more wins between now and Jan/Feb we can pull away from the relegation dog fight and start thinking futher ahead.

The Ex-Files: John McGreal
at 21:48:49

Quality player. Had it all really and proved such a good signing. I didn't know much about him before he came but what a find he turned out to be by Mr. Burley. You have to say, with the exception of a couple of obvious panic buys ahead of our 2nd season in the Premier League, rarely has a manager spent as wisely, and unearthed as many little known gems as Burley. Holland, Clapham, Mcgreal, Venus, Mogga, Wilnis, Jamma, Reuser, Johnson what fantastic buys. Not to mention Magilton, Stewart and Hreidarrsson. Great days, thanks for the memories George, John and co.

The romantic inside me really wanted us to take a punt on Burley last week. But, we've got MM now and I really hope he can tighten us up and make us more competitive than we have been.

Strike Pair Set to Miss Charlton Clash
at 17:22:39

Shame about Chopra and Taylor, 2 lively players and we'll miss them tomorrow but a great opportunity for Scotland and JET to make a place their own. I rate Scotland, never done a lot wrong in a town shirt and has chipped in with some important goals. As for JET, hard to second guess, sometimes completely innefectual but sometimes sublime. Could be a match winner if he's on it tomorrow.

I'm looking forward to the game, first one i've been able to get to since Blackburn where I thought we played well. The criticism of PJ is a joke, we're playing good football and we've come up against 2 very tough away games in Boro and Blackpool and 2 teams that were playing in the premier league last season and played decent football taking a point. 4 points from the other 2 games is a good return. He's a football manager not a magician, sometimes you need to acknowedge when we're beaten by superior opposition. It's games like tomorrow, Barnsely away next week that we should really be taking points from.

Let's all get behind the boys tomorrow. COYB.

Jewell Frustrated By Failure to Take Chances
at 23:04:59

Deserves til Christmas and see how we're doing then in my opinion. We've been a bit unlucky and had a tough first 6 games. As PJ says, still 40 games left and 2 very winnable ones coming up in the next 10 days.

Gotta say anything less than 4 points from our next 2 games and the pressure will be on Mr Jewell.

Jimmy's No Bit-Part Player
at 17:11:37

Hilarious interview but wouldn't expect anything else. Of course it's a money decision, if we were paying him 100% of the contract there is no way we would let him go and play elsewhere and still have to pay him.

I agree with the decision though, he wasn't going to play much football this season and it's good to save some money that hopefully we can put towards 2 or 3 signings over the next week or 2. I fully expect Peters to move on too, although perhaps he's playing more hardball than Bullard.

As for the younger players (Heskey cough cough), fully agree with PJ here, we looked so tired in midfield for much of last season, hopefully Adu can come in and add energy in there with young Luongo and perhaps Hyam, the ever improving JET and Martin who always works incredibly hard.

Blues Amongst Clubs Linked With Church
at 21:31:17

Would be a fantastic coup to get Church in on a season long loan. I'm not a fan of flooding a side with loanees but when you're adding 2 or 3 with real quality they can be the difference.

Bullard, Ellington, Peters out with Adu, Church, Wickham in and we would be a top force this season.
