Surely McKenna would have been aware of our last 20 or so years embarrassing cup record in fielding weakened teams and then losing to lower tier teams?
Never has it helped it us in the league.
You'd think he might of wanted to try and do things differently and play his best side..
I'm sure we will do everything we can to keep him and so we should.
It'll probably be down to Santi and whether he can resist the lure of playing at a higher level which we could hardly blame him for given he's now 25...
Not a fan but if there is such a thing as a safe bet then he'd surely be the one out of those that we would realistically have a chance of getting.. ..
We could easily have got in the play-offs last season when Cook took over and now one draw from 4 matches against this lot -
Morecombe Newport Burton Cheltenham
Clearly he should be given more of a chance but the fact that he couldn't get anything out of the last lot of players and the dire start with the new ones is very worrying
For the past 10 years or so our Managers have fielded weakened teams in the Cup as the league was the priority. Yet not once has it helped us in the league or any level whatsoever..
It's even more unforgivable this time as this was surely a chance for Cook to try and get what he considers his best team to gel....
