The assumption that it is acceptable for cheating with a person of the same sex is not correct, it is still wrong to cheat. Your reply suggests that the wife cheated during the first relationship but he never said his wife began a same sex relationship after his relationship or whether cheating was involved. She later had further relationships, which straight people find acceptable. You hear of people having multiple relationships all the time, of any sexuality. By the sounds of it, the female in question perhaps grew up in a society where being lesbian is wrong. There’s no reason to say she didn’t love her husband during their relationship just because her future relationship was with a female. Would you say that she left the future female due to cheating without further knowledge? |

Firstly, I feel it is quite offensive to suggest that you think a gay person would want to live their life ‘choosing to not come out’. Unless you have had the experience of being ‘in the closet’, you wouldn’t understand the fear you would have wondering whether your family, friends, colleagues would disown you for being your true self. This fear also starts at a young age and initiatives like the one at the weekend are there to help those, not to constantly tell straight people to be gay. I only left school just over 10 years ago and there wasn’t any support at all, in fact I recall in sex education that a teacher point blankly ignored a question regarding homosexuality from another student. In answer to your question about whether I still feel the need to be careful where to live, yes. Albeit they are less common now but you do still hear homophobic crimes against people. Your 3rd comment sums up why there is the initiative. Players who don’t want to feel they need to come out currently have the fear that if someone were to find they are in a relationship/married to another gay person will they receive abuse. They shouldn’t have to have come out to the public, but they shouldn’t have the fear of abuse if someone were to find out and share it out of their control. For the record, I don’t believe you are homophobic or against gay people but you need to understand how the realisation for someone who is gay at a young age can still affect their future life mentally and they then remove themselves from activities like football that they enjoy. |

I am a gay person and I do not want preferential treatment. I live my life in worry that I might come across someone who doesn’t accept my sexuality. I live my life having to be careful where i live in case my neighbours do not accept me for who I am and not who I want to be. I am grateful that society in the UK has become far more accepting of gay people than it was before my time but there is still work to be done to make sure others younger than me don’t have to live their younger days in fear. The weekends initiative was to show the younger people it is ok to be gay and involved in football. It is sad to see so many people still believe being gay is a life choice and these initiatives are to push for others to join us in what you call a ‘life style’. I hope one day there will be a top footballer comfortable to be who they are without fear of being ‘outed’ in the public eye and face abuse. |

On some level you are beginning to understand sexuality. However it is something you are born with. From your experience, it sounds like your ex is and has always been bi-sexual. She has always been bi-sexual rather than gay/lesbian. Sexuality involves who you’re attracted to which certainly isn’t a choice. When I look back to when I was younger, I would never be attracted to the opposite gender unlike friends and it began to scare me how I was different. |

Thank you. I’m not normally one to talk about my sexuality however I feel people are losing the reason behind the different campaigns in football and what Morsy’s reasoning to not to be involved could create to those football fans/players who are gay. Being the captain and removing himself from the campaign is what makes it worse. It’s difficult for the club as well as they have to support religion (they are often posting religious posts on Facebook etc) at the same time. My view is that using another player to show the clubs support should have been used, especially as Chaplin started at the weekend. He has been very proactive for the LGBT community at all the clubs he has been at. |

As a gay man, I have sat back and watch the differing views people have. There is no doubt that homophobia is much lower now than before my time due to many events to create understanding of homosexuality. There is continuing events to create acceptance for additional LGBT+ communities which have taken over the LGBT fight for acceptance and become equal in society. This is what I feel is causing the problem and some of it I can see why it is questionable and people are becoming ‘bored’ of it. The intended support over the weekend was to show the younger generations at school that being gay isn’t wrong and they can be part of football. I am younger than 30 and this wasn’t seen at school so I felt wrong, confused and alone who shouldn’t be part of football. Because of this, when I look back at my teens, it isn’t great. There is still no current openly gay footballers at the top level which would be why football is still involved in these campaigns. I feel it is a shame that Morsy didn’t get involved with the campaign, being that he is the captain of the club. He should show support for inclusion for everyone. If his religion does not see that, he isn’t fit to be captain. Whose to say one of his teammates are gay and feel the need to hide it. I don’t want to get involved in the religion debate, as religion is his choice. However, I will say that being gay isn’t a choice or preference and homophobia can be equalled to racism or sexism. |

Right then, who bought one? (I haven’t) If you have, I’m sorry but you can’t complain. This shirt/kit has been a massive success sales wise. Attempting to wear it away from Portman Road could be difficult as the home team would get priority. Therefore, to wear something with such big sales, wearing at Portman Road is likely to be the best opportunity for the club. Black shorts are common so we wouldn’t create many opportunities at away games. I don’t agree however that it was worn whilst on Sky. I can understand why they did it though as it’s the same day of the sponsorship extension. |

If you run a form table from the time McKenna was here, we would have to be comfortably top of that to have made the play offs this year. I make it that we would have needed 54 from 23 games which would have been one hell of an achievement. It probably sounds stupid but I’m glad we missed out on 70 rather than the huge total Plymouth did as I wouldn’t be able to cope! I believe we were 5th in the form table under McKenna so that is proof we are moving in the right direction, even if 11th place doesn’t. https://www.twtd.co.uk/league-tables/competition:league-one/daterange/fromdate:2 [Post edited 1 May 2022 8:50]

Sheffield Wednesdays attendances compared to ours are increased massively by their away attendances. I’ve seen an average that shows we get 600 away fans a game whereas they get 1700. [Post edited 21 Feb 2022 20:41]

They don’t wait for them to catch up, the let them passed half way round the track and by the time the safety comes in and the leader has backed the pack up, it’s likely they’re not far behind. It is a bit dodgy they only let those between through but Toto Wolff called the racing director during the safety car asking them not to let them through a lap before as he knew it would mean there would be a lap racing. Likewise, during the virtual safety car, he called and told them not to bring out the full safety car. It’s not up to him what to do! They’re as bad as Red Bull. Letting a lap of racing but no cars through would have been wrong but at the same time, what they’ve done is wrong. They probably had time to let them all through, based on where they let them through and there was only one lap! |

Last season we scored 25 at home in total, so far we’ve scored 15 at home in the league this season |

Ok, true, they do need to improve on their work but in all aspects of discrimination they should steer clear from politics to gain better progress I would have thought |

Ridiculous. This is an example of why I don’t agree with the knee. UEFA wouldn’t dare tell people they couldn’t take the knee or they would be racist even though it also originates from a political protest. It’s lost it’s meaning and effectiveness IMO Football should continue to push its Kick it Out campaign it has done for years [Post edited 22 Jun 2021 17:15]
