Town Among Clubs Linked With Accrington Striker
at 08:50:01

Agree entirely with shortmarine, was saying this very thing the other day when chatting about expectations this season, we all know we needed new faces and younger hungry players, however am concerned PH is looking a bit low on all new signings, the young hungry players also need to learn and be mixed with some experienced championship players. This is not League 1 and when you look at the teams we will be playing this season i get worried we may not be able to compete, would like to see an experienced CB brought in along with a proven Championship goalscoreer, would then give a good mix.

Smith Nets Late Winner for New Zealand
at 10:33:01

Am happy to admit when i am wrong and prior to MM taking over i did not see anything about Tommy to say he should be a starter with the Blues, HOWEVER MM has done wonders with the kid and he is now a big player for us who makes very few mistakes, wish he was a bit quicker but he has progressed massively under the leadership of MM, do not think we should AS YET make him Captain, lets let him enjoy his football without added pressure, but maybe vice Captain or similiar role. West Ham Recall Henderson
at 11:10:16

Agree that i HOPE Loach will step up, just a shame as Hedo and the back four have been playing well and to disrupt that is never good, whether he is our keeper or not i have gone from being confident we will stay up to anxious once again.

Interviews Taking Place
at 15:19:45

Well well, the Harry spin and interview creates new hope....Look at the circumstances :
1. Harry Wants to manage England - Most 2 successful England managers previously managed Ipswich.
2. Bond in the Crowd for the last game
3. Mates with Marcus
4. We are if nothing else INTERESTING at the moment. (as Harry says if something interesting comes along)
5. Would give him cult status to save us and progress us.
6. Harry enjoys a challenge and that we are at the moment.
7. Chance to build a club from the ground up.

All that said i am sure it will be MM, but here's hoping for big Harry......

Quartet Linked With Blackpool Boss
at 08:53:29

Oldbri, Cannot disagree with any of that, but none of that relates to Town, all clubs are going through the statements you have made, surely we only concern ourselves (at present) with the state of our club, I would love to be in a position where we can worry about the state of football as a whole, of which it is badly ran / managed and administered, but at the moment i do not care about any of that only ITFC and making sure we are staying around and in a position where we can worry about UEFA / Premier League and the Sky TV packages.

Quartet Linked With Blackpool Boss
at 07:36:24

Looking at those available, and semi-realistic :
Holloway: Number 1 choice to appease the majority of the ITFC faithful, quality manager, a real character and certainly would not take any s**t from the players.
Burley : A true blue but i have concerns that the second coming may not be as fruitful as the previous, a safe manager who knows us and the fans.
McCarthy : A good manager who would clear the ranks and make sure the players are all pulling in the same direction, again would not be unhappy with this appointment
Coyle : Done well previously and very much like McCarthy, would not be unhappy with him.
Curbs : For me has been out of the game too long and lost the connections / immediate reactions for the position we are in, if we were mid table would be happy, but we are not.
Bond / Jordan : Would be good but only if accompanied in some degree by Harry, cannot see this happening, and would not want any of these without Harry.
Shearer / Robinson / "young manager" : Would not be unhappy IF they appointed an experienced director of football to assist, i believe that we need strong management at the present time and an inexperienced man would not be capable of this, although of course they would be long term.
DiCanio / Butcher / Tarrico : Some good names there but a risk at the moment.
We can all agree to disagree i am sure as not everyone will be happy whoever the choice is, (except Ollie maybe) this is a MASSIVE appointment and has to be right, I would like them in before Saturday (hopefully midweek) as the more games the more losses and further adrift at the bottom.
Lots going on at ITFC i am sure but we do need someone to make a difference, and Evans to open his wallet in January.
COYB.

Carson, Hyam and Murphy Back for Blues
at 17:08:12

Well another loss, and even greater than previous results, this is the great youth that everyone seems to want to be playing, we need to get a grip and realise that the youngsters we have recently been producing are not good enough, Drury / Hyam / Smith / Carson, these should all be sent out on loan to get some experience, remember the days when we used to "blood" the youngsters in league 2 then 1, this has gone and we expect them to be good enough to play for ITFC, they are not. That is not too say we should be playing dads army but a good mix of better players, NDaw should of been in the middle with Wellens, with the youth of Martin and Carson / Jet on the wings, Murphy should not play and should of been Chopra and DJ, Loach should of been back in as Henderson has been atrocious.
First thing is to bring in a RB and allow Edwards to play in his position. Thankfully that is the end of the Jewell brigade as Carson and Hyam were only brought in to appease the fans, and look what happened.
Onwards and upwards....COYB

Leicester's Wellens Signs On Loan
at 19:13:44

Very happy with this and the potential other signings in a CB and hopefully a striker, he will bring some much needed steel to the middle and a creative player, up to now we only have 1 decent CM (N'Daw) and 1 not yet complete player in Luongo, our own bred CM in Drury and Hyam are not good enough and i have said that from day 1 of seeing both play, Hyam maybe good but too small to do the job he is supposed to be (enforcer) and not good enough to be creative.
Finally some competition in the CB role, as Smith will hopefully become 4th choice, also gives cover for LB if Cressy is injured / having a bad day.
We do have to play our own youngsters but i am afraid we do not have any of note, nothing and nobody that i could say is a real gem, they are all "just enough" and that for me a true blue is not good enough, if we have to bring in players and get a good balance between youth and experience as we finally seem to be then that is great, even if they are not "home gown".
COYB ..I will be there for Cardiff giving them my all.....

Three Changes at Barnsley
at 14:36:16

Contentious maybe but do not like the look of that team, Luongo far better than hyam and Drury, looks like he is purely going to hold in midfield and hope for Martin / Murphy and Scotland to produce something, can understand that but nothing and nobody creative in the middle. Would of preffered Martin playing up front of a diamond with Carson or Jet in his place and Drury or Hyam dropped.
That said i hope we win to relieve some pressure.

No I know and am friends with alot of Irish, but in this paticular case Muppet was the nicest word i could think of to describe the sorry excuse of a supposed football manager.

Although i am still unsure of PJ's ability to turn around what has been a very unhappy 4 years, i do hope he does as he has proven he can compete with the best of them.
For me the downward spiral has been the era of "irish muppet Keane", he dessimated the team, sold off the assets and brought in has beens that do not argue with him, as soon as an argument occured he took it personally and then had the player as a sub / not on the bench even if they were the best player. I do not believe that any manager brought in could of turned around what Keane did to our club, I hate seeing his face on international games as it makes my bllod boil thinking he is still making money when he is clearly a poor human being as well as a manager, pleased to see he cannot find anyone to manage.
Anyway rant over but do think PJ had an already impossible job following the irish muppet without the poor results that have followed.
I hope he does turn it around but think the next manager will have more luck, as PJ has steadied the town.

Higginbotham Would Welcome Longer Stay
at 13:03:55

Albeit a player that does not have a long term future he is better than Smith is at the present moment and as such should be straight in the team for Saturday, brings experience and certainly a commanding prescence, this is not to say Smith will not be back (even though i have never rated him) just to say that he does look apathetic and in need of a break. Will also add competition as at the present moment the back 4 are under no pressure for their place in the team, the quicker Hewitt gets back to add additional competition the better. It is the added pressure that invigorates players and at pressure we have none.
That said not sure what is happening up fron, definitly need some impetus to encourage what we have, maybe a loan striker if we can get one.

Sean St Ledger, Loan until January then permanant signing, hopefully anyway, St Ledger and Chambers at the back. Do not rate Smith never have but at least he has some experience now and will provide cover as required.

N'Daw Set to Join On Loan
at 15:46:48

Agree with AndyGizmo, we all want the young players to succeed and carry on the fine tradition of the Ipswich Youth, but realistically we will not go up based on youth, they will have bad games / injury's and teams that "run the proverbial rings around them", we have to have some experience and physical presence in the middle. I believe he will bring this to the town.
An experienced Pro playing in top leagues as well as the Championship, a very good signing for the team.
On loan or ours does not matter if they give 100%, has to be a good balance and i believe this man will certainly help Hyam rather than stall his progress.
Those that think otherwise and that we should rely on youth are obviously happy playing in this division or League 1. (But at least they are all young....Muppets)

Friend Opts for Town
at 06:41:42

Don't think anyone wants Cressy to leave as the back 5 finally starting to look like it can compete, Loach - Edwards / new lad - Chambers - Friend - Cressy.
But for 4 mil (ish) that is good business for town, does leave a hole to fill though, hopefully we can keep him and add friend and Davis, then just a CM unless "our jimmy" gives us a season and i will be hopeful of a good year, and looking at it maybe a 5/6th place finish, cannot see us competing with Blackburn or Bolton, but after that who knows.
Need a good year from a few experienced players that we did not get last year and maybe some good times ahead.
