Growing up in the 80s, I couldn’t split between my 3 loves, Town and England football/ cricket teams. However as much as I still love my cricket, nothing would beat Town getting promotion. In fact Town getting promotion next season would still beat most things. |

Taking a simplistic view....
As you say and based on the figures you quote.
18-2.6 leaves 15.4
15.4 *0.55 = 8.47 a difference of 9.53 mill from last year
In league one a wage bill of 8.47mill would make us the 2nd largest.
I suspect ME has told PL that he expects top 6 a minimum and any cash for signings will have to be generated by wheeling and dealing.
We will still need ME to input 4-5mill |

I think I’m right in saying the club now own the freehold, expect within the next 5 years the club to move t out of the centre and a new retail complex etc etc.
Peterborough really is such an enigma. The cathedral, nene park, the steam railway just some of the quaint attractions coupled with the dross in the city centre and some of the surrounding sprawling estates. |

Loved watching Robin Smith in full flow - his trademark square cut just a thing of beauty. Brave as a lion. Very sad reading what he's been through, very much a great of the early nineties. |

Totally agree. Hurst and Evans contrived to put together the most inept and lacking squad in my lifetime. We are powder puff in defence, lack strength and leadership in midfield and lack power and strength up front. And of course can't score for toffee.
I think it will take Lambert 3 windows to turn this round - he's not going to be able to make lots of signings and it's going to take the youngsters a while to get up to the required mark, that's if they are capable.
And all the while teams like Lincoln will be after taking our scalp and not giving us an inch. I fear it will get worse before it gets better.
For me, I just want to see this team get a winning mentality back and then build on that.
The question is whether everyone can hold their nerve and have patience. For me, Lambert is the man to carry this change through but it's not going to be pretty at times. |

Clearly Evans has his faults but any guy who every week signs a cheque for £100k+ to keep the club running deserves a bit of respect. For every ME there is a
Ken Anderson, Dick Knight, the Oystons etc. Not ideal but could be much, much worse. |

But as I said to my Surs mate at work, to me nowhere is better than FPR under the floodlights. I wouldn’t swap our ground for anywhere. |

Woods, Watson, Bellamy, Fashanu, Gunn all players grudgingly admired.
To a lesser extent Barham, Fox, Hoolahan, Eadie.
Even without my blue tinted specs on could I see any of the above make it in a combined 11. Not a chance. |
