 | News Comment | TWTD, Blue Monday and Alex Griffin Football Content Awards Finalists at 23:54:12
Well done all. Not quite sure what some peoples issues are with Alex. Given my quickly advancing years I'm normally all for complaining about change / technology (when it suits!), but not in this case. I think Alex does a great job that is enjoyed by many. You only have to read the comments on his you tube video from fans of ALL clubs. All too often football content is divisive, especially on social media / you tube but Alex appeals to all and is inclusive. I think as Town fans we should be proud of that, even if it might not be your personal cup of tea. Well done all and good luck, your effort is appreciated |
 | News Comment | Town Launch Pink Third Kit Designed With Sheeran at 14:00:08
I believe this may well grow on me. I shan't however buy it as my colouring in pink would leave me looking even more albino and anemic than I already do. Nice idea of a shirt, I can't however help when reading the story behind it think back to the nonsense that I used to write in my GCSE art project folder to justify the weird stuff I'd drawn and try to add meaning to it Like I say it might grow on me but personally I wouldn't have had the sound bite bit at the top. Business wise masterstroke yet again and I'm sure it will be a fantastic seller worldwide to the masses of Sheeran fans and well done for getting him involved |
 | News Comment | FA Release Written Reasons For Morsy Ban at 12:00:25
I'm sure i'll be shot down when someone points out I'm talking cr*p, but... Is my understanding right in that if it was seen at the time he would have been red carded and given a 2 match suspension. I know there's circumstances where that can be extended after the event in extreme situations. However, I'd imagine after a flash in the pan moment Stanley would have been chuffed us being down to 10 men and might not have caused a stir after enjoying that element of it. However, as all officials totally failed to spot it at the time, he gets 4 games??. I don't get it. I understand punishment for the event but extra for it not being spotted is beyond me. Looks like the Stanley Chairman won then |
 | News Comment | Ipswich Town 1-0 Wycombe Wanderers - Match Report at 22:20:00
I'm loving the application and effort tonight. Not the prettiest but a number of players running their socks off, getting back and fighting as a team. That in itself has been absent far too long imho. The prettier performances will come but what a confidence booster to keep a clean sheet when playing as a team like that |
 | News Comment | Mings Only Senior Player at Chippenham at 16:16:52
Stretchy boy - I get that but it's worth pointing out that Chippenham also have a friendly with Swansea which they are clearly staring as a Swansea XI, yet not doing the same with Ipswich. If it was a usual friendly I'd get us sending kids but as part of a transfer deal I just think its bad bad form |
 | News Comment | Mings Only Senior Player at Chippenham at 15:53:50
I live in Chippenham myself and this is the first I'd heard of the lack of first teamers. When I first saw the fixture I thought we'd be bound to send the kids down, but given its part of the deal for Tyrone I personally think its not in the spirit of things to send the u21s down. personally i also think treating our first teamers Like that just breeds arrogance. Send them to the less glamour games such as Chippenham and earn their wages, I think it's dangerous to start picking the ties to put the effort in for as it rolls over into the league when we're heading to places like Yeovil on a rainy wet day! Personally I think the fairest thing to do would be to have a 50/50 split with first teamers and u21s, great opportunity for our young lads to play with more experienced first teAmers whilst keeping our end of the bargain in the correct spirit. It's worth pointing out that as I am based in Chippenham I can tell you that neither Chippenham nor the local pair are advertising this fixture as an 'Ipswich XI' they are straight forward promoting it as 'Ipswich town fc'. A lot of dissapointed people tomorrow, my kids included. |
 | News Comment | McCarthy: Mings Could Be Involved Quickly at 23:37:47
Good move With little to lose. As a Chippenham based fan myself I'm well chuffed about the friendly but also know friends of his and can confirm he has travelled with the squad to Leeds. Good on Mick getting him properly involved in the squad straight away and getting him hungry to be involved. For all too long we've had many good players on paper but have delivered nothing, no harm in having a couple of younger players without the big prices, wages and ego to play with pride and desire (hopefully)! Nice one mick |
