Wow - disappointed to read a couple of those posts - guess that is what it all about these days - who can say the dumbest most horrible things As for the result - for them to be playing against 10 internationals who train full time then of course it was going to be a step up in class - sounds like they handled themselves well and can be very proud to have gotten this far Let's hope it is the start of things to come for Ipswich Ladies and we can all be supportive of their rise up the leagues |

Terry - not missed the point at all - my point is that we are going to be very far apart in terms of what we can offer right now - the sums you mention are probably about right - but he is going to be a far more attractive prospect (if he remains injury free) in the summer than he is now so there is no way he will sign for us right now - or even sign a pre-contract (when he can) unless we are offering around the money you mention - which I think is very unlikely |

I am sure he will have to take a paycut - as those are Prem wages but at the same time - who here is going to take over a 50% pay cut at the prime of their career unless forced to - I am sure that a Champ team will be monitoring him and could offer $14,000 a week which is something we can't right now Just the nature of the beast unfortunately |
 | Blog Comment | Time To Simply Enjoy Being Ipswich Town at 17:25:03
Really great read and agree totally - instant gratification is something Ipswich have never been about People wanted a change from Mick and that is exactly what they got, so lets give our new manager and HIS team a chance to progress without hitting the panic button 5 mins into his tenure |
 | News Comment | Fowler Completes Aldershot Switch at 20:48:41
Henrysam - you are wrong about a few things there - firstly Webber was on trial with a view to loan - not to sell. He is also predominantly a left back One of the reasons why L1 and L2 clubs haven't taken these players is that they can only do loans during the window now - and if the player returns like Smith did then he couldn't go back In terms of where they are - well that is subjective but Fowler is older and at 20 should be a lot closer to first team - he may have started the palace game but MM has said that he was impressed with Smith since his loan so I would imagine he would start now - also Woolfy made the bench at the start of the season over the pair of them Anyways it is a fobe deal now - let's hope he goes on to have a great career |
 | News Comment | Fowler Completes Aldershot Switch at 14:36:46
I think this is a great move all around - he is behind Smith and Woolfy and therefore would probably get released at the end of the season - this way he gets a club before the big scrum and we also get a sell on clause if he does make it Sometimes I think people forget that most academy players don't make it - and this whole idea of 'giving them a chance' is just fine but they have to be ready for that chance - and clearly George isn't |
 | News Comment | Fowler Could Complete Deadline Day Switch to Shots at 13:34:54
"Yes, and loaning players to non-league sides outside of window has produced zero players and zero fees. So maybe don't bother? " Yes - why bother with anything - lets just sit back and wait for the world to end. What a stupid comment |
 | News Comment | Fowler Could Complete Deadline Day Switch to Shots at 12:53:53
The loans to non-league happen more now due to the new rules that league clubs can't buy/loan a player outside of window - so Conference is the highest that they can go I really do wonder why people have to find the negative all the time - this article clearly states why Fowler is moving on - 1) there are better players (Woolfy and Smith) ahead of him in the youth ranks 2) Aldershot want him and this is a great opportunity for the lad to get a club before the scrum at the end of the season 3) we have put in a sell on clause - so instead of getting nothing if we release him and he goes elsewhere, now if Aldershot do get some cash for him then so will we |
 | News Comment | Smith Rejoins Chelmsford On Loan at 12:49:41
.... or you can look at it another way - there is a big step up between Conference & Championship football - especially for a Centre Back - Chris did well enough to be considered for a place on the bench - hence the loan was interrupted - however we have now signed a Premiership player that has been playing in the top half of the Championship all season so he can now go back out on loan, get regular games and who knows, develop into a decent prospect for the coming years Glass doesn't always have to be half empty |
 | News Comment | McCarthy: Result We Needed to Get Fans Back On Side at 21:17:34
Those slagging off MM do know that he signed Celina, and Lawrence, and Fraser and Johnny Williams - not to mention Connelly as well - every year he has managed to pic us up a little gem in the loan market |
 | News Comment | McCarthy: Wonderful Finish By Celina But Result Tough on Burton at 20:43:56
Not really sure what people expect MN to say - sounds like he was getting dogs abuse for the bulk of the second half - he makes a tactical change that wins us the game and takes his team to one point below the playoff and higher than a lot of other teams paying higher wages and transfer fees - yet still people aren't happy I am struggling to think of another manager we have had that has suffered this sort of abuse when the team are so high up the table |

 | News Comment | I Hate Playing Ipswich, the Risk of Defeat Hurts Like Mad - Notes for Norwich at 15:53:49
“I struggle to name a Town player these days but I suspect our players have been on Town supporters' lips for years.” This one makes me laugh - I really have no idea who some of the players above are - most of the defense seems to come from the German lower leagues and apart from Hoolahan and Jerome then it is all pretty much a new team from last year. |
 | News Comment | McGoldrick Aiming for Highest Town Goal Tally at 03:34:33
Well I think the first two comments on here proved exactly what he just said - we're fifth in the table with a game in hand - played with full backs at centre backs for most of the season - spent nowhere near as much a most of the league on either wages or fees and yet still plenty of people are moaning - so McGoldrick is right as far as I can see (albeit a generalisation) |
 | News Comment | Goldson Loan Deal Runs Out of Time at 23:19:53
So the club had the player they wanted lined up and were waiting for Brighton to get their arses into gear - they were then let down by another club and in turn let us down - but obviously that is Mick fault ? |
 | News Comment | McCarthy Not Currently Targeting Further Additions or Looking to Send Youngsters Out on Loan at 19:36:19
Think Mick is damed if he does and damed if he doesn't here - some people want to see the youth given a chance over some journeyman however other think we need to add more depth/experience Personally, I think that if Mick - who has been a top flight manager for longer than anyone else likely to comment on here - believes that the likes of Nydam, Downes and others are likely to kick on this season then I am happy with that We don't have the sort of money available - or even the sort of wage structure - to encourage the real high end Championship players (like Asombalonga) so we need to make do with what we have and hope that the team can push on as a whole |
