Warky wins out ahead of the Beat as TWTD readers' favourite ever player having regained the title last year after his much-missed and similarly well-loved former team-mate overtook him at the end of the season in which he died. Hopefully, Beat's statue will be gracing Portman Road before too much longer.

As mentioned in last year's survey, Kieron Dyer said a while back that he felt "Kevin Beattie is the best player that we've ever had in our long history but I think John Wark is our greatest ever player just because of the longevity of his career and his honours, both with the team and individually". Which is a good summary of the situation.

Matt Holland has been established third for a number of years now, while his team-mate Marcus Stewart leaps ahead of fellow strikers Pablo Couñago and Paul Mariner into fourth, marking the 20th anniversary of his brilliant 2000/01 campaign.

Arnold Muhren wins the battle of the Dutchmen by 15 votes, while we have detected our first ever instance of voter fraud.

Tom Adeyemi may have promised much in his four starts and one sub appearance, however, we're not sure 32 people really see him as their favourite ever player.

The two respondents who voted Franny Jeffers as their favourite ever player will no doubt be delighted to see the former striker return as a coach.

Similarly, the family of Charles Ashcroft will be pleased to read that the 1950s goalkeeper's seven appearances for the club continue to remembered very fondly by one supporter.
