TWTD Questionnaire 2019/20

Q6 Player of the 2019/20 season?

Not too many players came out of the season with much credit but from virtually the opening day of the campaign Flynn Downes looked the favourite to carry off any player of the year gongs which were on offer.

In the end most of them were cancelled along with the season but the Brentwood-born midfielder's 2019/20 deserved an accolade even if the campaign overall was a great disappointment for the club

The 20-year-old's performances seemed to step up a level but while at the same time suggesting that there is still much more to come in the future, hopefully at Town.

Luke Woolfenden made one of the central defensive roles his, also virtually from the start of the season, while few players have started their Blues careers as brightly as Kane Vincent-Young following his move from Colchester. Losing him to injury was a severe blow.

Luke Garbutt had an impressive year on loan and hopefully might return on a permanent basis next season, while Kayden Jackson was certainly the pick of the front players, joint-top scoring with James Norwood on 11 and also picking up seven assists.
