John Wark is once again TWTD readers' favourite player of all-time having dropped behind his team-mate and friend Kevin Beattie last year, perhaps unsurprisingly at the end of the season in which the former England international died.
When discussing John Wark's best Town and Liverpool XI earlier in the summer, Kieron Dyer said that he believed that "Kevin Beattie is the
best player that we’ve ever had in our history but I think John Wark is Ipswich’s
greatest ever player just because of the longevity of his career and his honours, both with the team and individually". Which is a fair assessment.
Matt Holland has established himself in third in recent seasons, while Pablo Couñago and Marcus Stewart jump back ahead of Paul Mariner, who was fourth last year.
Of the current squad, skipper Luke Chambers got 17 votes, Cole Skuse six, Flynn Downes four and a few others one or two each.
One respondent's favourite ever player is Larsen Touré, presumably the person he threw his shirt to at Doncaster in the Carabao Cup, while the family of Belfast-born winger John Brownlow - two Blues appearances in May 1947 - will I'm sure be delighted to hear he's still one supporter's favourite Town player of all-time.
