Disappointing after a good start, conceding the second so quickly really destroyed us.

Doku ran the show, had Johnson on toast. Godfrey also struggled.

Clarke didn’t have a bad game, but his error wont help his confidence.

Our season was never going to be defined by this game, a reminder of how far we’ve come in a short time, but the goal difference hit is disappointing!

Was this a training match where no one gets injured. Who was playing at home? A white wash we move on.

Embarrassing performance and result.
Outclassed in our last 2 home games and in all honesty we’ve little chance of staying up as we just don’t have the quality in the side, with the exception of Delap, to play at this level.

Unfortunately our recruitment hasn’t been good enough.

The above said, let’s enjoy the rest of the season and just hope we can turn it around.

7 more to endure before our team built to win the Championship 2025/26 can get on with it, and hope to do better in PL 2026/27.

MK has to take blame today it was Man City and he put in Clarke and Godfrey both not played man minutes and Morsy who has no pace and cannot cover pitch anymore.I remember being at Old Trafford when we got smashed this was as bad looks like we may be going back down like that year. And Walton made 1 good save but was poor otherwise and he doesnt receive same treatment as Muric from crowd strange really. Least can look forward to next week oh tes Liverpool Oh No

Clarke was not good today apart from one run I would have liked Broadhead to be in the team. Too much respect given and Man City were very good today not many teams would have lived with them. Compariisin between world club champions and our position at the time shows the gulf in class!!

The first 20 mins was VERY encouraging. After that it was the Jeremy Doku show - what a difference maker. We were backing off of him into the penalty area and from then on, it was a toss-up whether City were going to score. Worried that our recruiting other than Delap (and maybe O'Shea) has been very suspect and too focused domestically. We tend to play tighter away from home, so hopefully confidence is not affected and we can give a better showing at Liverpool.
