Stewart was worthy of a cap. When you think he scored 19 in the Prem in a season and Solanke gets picked after scoring 1. We're in such a different era.

Some others are a little harsh. There was a time where we didn't have a decent left back so we tried a few out. Hardly the "worst" players ever.

Read through and there's some alright players in there. Matt Jarvis was a decent option in his prime. Nicky Shorey was quality at Reading. Luke Young was consistently playing. Jason Wilcox won the premier league. Quite a few of the others were having a decent patch with their club teams and surely that's one of the factors when picked for England. As said earlier in the thread, the fact that Abraham and Solanke are on the list is a little silly. Didn't David Nugent have an appearance where he literally sprinted as fast as he could you try and score a goal that was going in (from Defoe)? |  | | |

Nugent didn't do much in the Prem. Most are solid Premier League players though I guess they don't scrub up too well when you compare them to Rooney and the like. I mean, what must he have thought when people like Shorey and Zat Knight get selected and he's playing with Ronaldo and Giggs at Man Utd? | | | |

I'd say that's a pretty poor piece of journalism to be honest.
On the Stewart topic, it seems mad he wasn't picked but we had a wealth of talent at our disposal at that time. A season like that now and he's be in the squad as back up to Kane. | |
