I wondered where Broadhead was in our list of all time highest fees paid and stumbled on this. Some of those in our top 20 were shockers!

Not many clubs top 5 will be from 20 years ago! Also I thought Emyr Huws was free?

I thought he was too. It's probably top-ups: Medical fees and ambulances and stuff.

Civelli! Forgot about him, had such high hopes for him, did he ever even play a game for us?

He played a few and then got that big injury, he did make a brief return before getting another injury!

My favourite part of that list is on page 3 or 4, John Wark sitting nicely below Andy Drury.

Did we play nearly £7 mil for HH!

Loved Herman but I had no idea he was our biggest outlay.

Sad how we failed to keep up as transfer fees exploeed

Some of that is definitely wrong, no way did we pay £1.1m each for Waghorn and Garner.

I think it was about 4m! He was fantastic in our first Prem season.

It's in Euros which were worth rather less than the pound a few years back but even so it looks fairly loosely compiled.

Much as I like Kayden Jackson, how on earth is he our 14 most expensive signing?

What's really depressing about this list is how much money we spent on many players, mostly terrible/ineffective (Taylor, Martin, Huws, etc), and then subsequently them leaving for other clubs for free or a minimal fee.
Unsurprisingly, a large proportion of those from the Evans era.

Gives good perspective on the great signings and transfer business the Club have completed recently under Ashton et al, compared to the dross you see on the first couple of pages of that list!

All the fees are in euros, not sterling.

i was thinking about this last night after reading another thread.

I have 1.6 million pounds in my head that we paid for him and he's never been worth that imo. He's ok, but so limited in the way you can play him upfront, his touch isn't great and his crossing is very hit and miss but i do see what he brings to this squad atm and he's quite an important member of the squad also.

Whether that's the case going forward, im not sure.

Because altho there are a few high ones on that list, it does drop quite quickly to more moderate figures (by Championship standards). £1.5m-ish is not really that much for a striker at that level.

2 things....first of all we have heard that the total for Broadhead could go to 3 million with add ons for promotion....is that remotely accurate....

Second of all I have zero recollection of Paul Taylor.....pretty much everyone else I had at least heard of....

Posh do sell on well ....

Civelli looked like he might be a decent player.
Le Pen, similarly crocked, did not play enough for us to tell.

Martin must be our worst value non-injured signing. He was quick but otherwise useless.

Taylor was a disaster but he could play.

TBF most thought it was a really good signing.

He obviously needed managing well on and off the pitch we appeared to do neither!

Probably just a bad egg.
