That's very sad, given what he has been through. The PV board are often held up as a shining example of good, sensible governance. This must really be a painful day for everyone at the club.
I do wonder how much fans attribute their demise in recent months to the January departure of Connor Hall, once of Bury Town,to Colchester. He dropped down a league just to be closer to home. |  | | |

Their drop off has been quite concerning..Teams below them, Oxford, MKD, Cambridge are all picking up points and have a game in hand.. Couple more defeats for them, and they are right in the mix for bottom 4... They looked pretty safe a month or so back.. Can't blame their board for trying to do something about it.
They are already in slight disarray. Can't see this doing them any favors in terms of Ipswich away, though.
My thinking is, they've written this game off or just see it as a completely free hit. And hope they can muster the 3 or 4 points needed from their remaining other games. |  | | |

I think it was as much the assistant, who's coming in now, who got them promoted. Clarke was on compassionate leave for quite some time.
Reading the statement , maybe it's a bit harsh to say they've 'got rid of him'. Maybe he too genuinely thinks that the players might respond better to his assistant. We don't know - maybe he offered to resign three weeks ago and they said 'give it another three weeks and see where we are'. We don't know. | | | |
