Leadbitter and Emmanuel-Thomas Start
Saturday, 31st Dec 2011 14:12

Grant Leadbitter and Jay Emmanuel-Thomas are back in the Town starting line-up for this afternoon’s game at Reading (KO 3pm). Keith Andrews and Jason Scotland miss out due to their hamstring problems.

Andrews tore his hamstring on Monday and won’t play again before his half-season loan spell from Blackburn is up after Monday’s home match with Nottingham Forest with Blues boss Paul Jewell keen to keep him at Portman Road.

Scotland has a more minor problem and could be involved against the Tricky Trees.

The Royals are unchanged from their 3-0 Boxing Day victory over Brighton. Full match preview here.

Town: Lee-Barrett, Edwards, Sonko, Delaney, Cresswell, Martin, Leadbitter (c), Bowyer, Murphy, Emmanuel-Thomas, Chopra. Subs: Wright, Wabara, Carson, Bullard, Ellington.

Reading: Federici, Cummings, Griffin, Gorkss, Pearce, Karacan, Leigertwood, Kebe, McAnuff (c), Church, Le Fondre. Subs: Andersen, Harte, Tabb, Robson-Kanu, Hunt.

Disappointing to see contract-rebel Leadbitter take the captain's armband again, but let's see how he does today.

A great change for Emmanuel-Thomas. Will he take it?

COYB!

hope JET takes this opportunity. people don't get scouted by arsenal, if they have no potential!

Half time and we have been a match for Reading and they are one of the form sides at present. Keep it going lads, time for JET to get a goal.

On the 20th August away to Peterborough I think a lot of Town fans on here agreed that Grant Leadbitters performance as player and captain was amongst the worst they had ever witnessed. I went as far to say that I never want to see him wear a town shirt again!

Why, after several weeks out of the squad without losing is he drafted back in ahead of others who were previously higher in the pecking order? Am whether he gave away the free kick that led to their goal is immaterial, the fact he's been the central hub of our side since we've been consistently poor is.

Keaneish i totally agree, 2 and a half years in the team now and i still dont know what he brings to the team, i was at Peterborough and it really was the most pathetic display by him and the team, Bullard looked good from the bench in the previous 2 games so why was he picked ahead of him?
If he stays in the team we will be fighting relegation for the rest of the season
