Loach and Taylor in U21s
Tuesday, 4th Feb 2014 12:52

Scott Loach and Paul Taylor are the only senior players involved in this afternoon’s U21 match against Millwall at Playford Road (KO 1pm).

The duo were amongst a number of first-teamers who didn’t make the Portugal trip — skipper Carlos Edwards and striker Sylvan Ebanks-Blake also remained behind - for a variety of organisational reasons, such as not having up to date passports. The training camp was arranged only a few days before the squad left on Sunday.

The side also includes a trialist, Stoke City left-back Sam Westley, who celebrates his 20th birthday today. He also played in last week’s 3-0 behind-closed-doors friendly defeat to Colchester, which was played at Kesgrave High School.

U21s: Loach, Hammond, Westley, Clarke, Fowler, Sowunmi, Doherty, Lawrence, Adekunle, Taylor, Timlin. Subs:: McDermid, Leddy, Berkane, Galvin, Ford.

Loach is unlucky that Gerken makes up for his blunders with some incredible saves.

Taylor seems destined to fail at ITFC. Nouble ahead of him in a 4-3-3 is just laughable.

Who cares they are both crap, loach never leaves his line Taylor is a one trick pony .He can dribble with pace but the end product will be either that he will run into trouble and lose the ball or will try shooting which unfortunately he is absolutely woeful at.Loach has to accept number 2 or leave ,Taylor maybe has a future at wide right but i am not convinced

It could be down to travel restrictions due to his recent court case.

our best keeper and one of are most creative players in the reserves.
mick just does not like these lads personally is my take-he seemed to favour loach at the start of the season then dropped him but gerkin has since made loads of mistakes-gerkin has always been a good shot stopper ive seen plently of him since his early 20s but he makes big errors that cost you.
as for taylor he is paying the price for being skillfull proper player rather than a lump which we need for our long ball game that people seem content with as long as we keep grinding out results.i like town winning but hate watching the way we play at the moment and think too many people are happy to trade in our footballing soul for a few gritty extra points

Game ended 2-2. Two Taylor penalties, but then 20 seconds before full time Millwall equalised also with a penalty

Dont think the lads who are left out, especially Paul Taylor and the team captain Carlos Edwards are very happy about missing out on the jolly to Portugal, wont be much team bonding from them I think as they will feel like outcasts.
Lets hope that those two and Scott Loach couldn't go for some particular reason, other than the fact MM doesn't much care for them.
