Town Announce Norwich Play-Off Ticketing
Saturday, 2nd May 2015 17:06

Town have announced ticketing details for the two-legged Championship play-off semi-final against Norwich City. The Blues host the Canaries in the first leg next Saturday (KO 12.15pm) with the away game at Carrow Road the following Saturday (KO 12.15pm).

The home leg, which is not included with season tickets, is priced at Grade A and will be available online from ITFC Direct or at Planet Blue.

Tickets for the home semi-final will go on sale to Platinum and Gold Card holders from Sunday 3rd May at 8am, to season ticket holders from Monday 4th May at 8am, Silver Card holders from Tuesday 5th May at 8am and then go on general sale from Wednesday 6th May, 8am.

Season ticket holders’ seats will be reserved until Wednesday 6th May with any unsold seats released for general sale at 8am on Wednesday 6th May.

Platinum members, Gold members, Silver members and season ticket holders will be able to buy their own seat plus one additional ticket per customer number. Supporters purchasing once seats are on general sale may buy up to four tickets per customer number. All fans will receive a paper ticket for the home semi-final.

Fans on the pre-payment cup scheme will have their ticket automatically processed on this evening.

For the second leg, tickets will be sold one per customer number and only online. The club will use the priority customer number entitlement based on the advance purchase of away tickets throughout the season, as previously used for earlier game at Norwich.

Supporters receiving this priority entitlement will receive a letter outlining how to purchase their ticket early next week. Platinum members will have their tickets processed in the usual way.

After that Gold Card holders can purchase their tickets from Saturday 9th May at 8am, season ticket holders from Sunday 10th May at 8am and Silver Card holders from Monday 11th May at 8am, before any remaining will go on general sale on Tuesday 12th May at 8am.

Town have been allocated 2,042 tickets at £25 for adults, £15 for senior citizens (65+),£10 for under-17s and £5 for under-12s. For full details of ticketing for both legs including coach travel, visit the club site.

Aren't we entitled to 15% of the capacity. 26,000 capacity = 3,900 away tickets ??!!

Hang on, don't season tickets get a 'reduced rate' all season. How much do they pay per game? I don't see why they should get a discount to be honest. And I've been one for several years bar this.

£ 10 for under 16's in the family enclosure - so for my 7 and 5 year old its as much for this game as the last 23 - HOW CAN THAT BE?

Don't think anyone should get a discount just because they're a season ticket holder, just think the prices should of been lower across the board, £25 per adult would surely of been ample......

Disgraceful pricing from the club.
I'm delighted to have fluked a place in the playoffs despite our pathetic performance today, but it leaves a real bitter taste that they've taken this opportunity to fleece us.
Despicable, but what we have come to expect.
COYB!

It is desperately sad that on the day we make the playoffs ( even after a lucky last day break) that there is this unhappiness about pricing.
I am a season ticket holder and for early bird loyalty I have received a " discount" throughout the season
I don't believe that entitles me to any further discount on what most regular Town supporters regard as the most important home fixture for ten years!

I do however believe that all Under 16s should be allowed in for £5

But I certainly do not believe that those adults who only now are showing a desire for a ticket consider they should have some sort of concession

Maybe it's those who I saw outside the Britannia Stand last week v Notts Forest with their Town scarves on , asking" is this the Sir Alf stand" !

I was the first to kick off the 'moaning' on here and I will NOT pipe down. I don't expect freebies or massive discounts, but to make this a cat A game smacks of cashing in and saying F you supporters. I understand how business works, but this is supposed to be a community club, how can there be such disparity between our prices and the scum's.

I'm not even able to go, but do feel that the club has a huge opportunity to score a big PR goal here.

I have been saying all season to those who believe that ticket prices are the sole reason for low gates, that if the football or the occasion is of quality, the crowds will come whatever the price. The club clearly are acutely aware of this also.

Regarding my earlier post: "Aren't we entitled to 15% of the capacity. 26,000 capacity = 3,900 away tickets ??!! " - I'm sure that's the case.

I cant wait. I will see the first leg at portman rd then travel up to the drum & monkey for the away leg on sky. Come on you blues!

@Essextractor - so you happy if Town never grow their fan base then? those fans you saw outside the Britannia may well be the next crop of people who buy season tickets for the next 25 years regardless of division.

The general complaint is nothing to do with loyalty, it is to do with the club's respect for their supporters. Even if there are a load of 'johnny come latelys' at PR next Saturday, if they've paid nearly £40 to get in and the football is dire (lets hope not) then what is the liklehood that they'll think positively about coming back?

Chicago, 10% of total tickets up to 2000 according the football league rules for play-offs: http://www.football-league.co.uk/global/playoffrules.aspx The extra tickets must be to accomodate a complete section.

Indeed the site I link above suggests that tickets (even for season ticket holders) can only be sold at less than the normal league match rate (surely qualifies as a category A) if there is written agreement from the away side. That would suggest it would require ITFC to agree to them allowing their supposed free entry. Has that been agreed? The club would be doing themselves out of revenue if they did as something like 25% of the gate goes to the away side.

PaulC..the long term fan base is dependent on younger fans becoming regulars. And it is those who are the most likely to buy for the next 25 years which you refer to

So please re read my comment about Under 16 charging

We both know that for years now there has been a certain element who have turned up at PR only for " the big occasion" and pretending to be " loyal" regulars and unlikely to be seen again eg Southampton this year and sorry if I offend you by saying it but it is those who I was referring to

Of course the bigger the support next week the better it will hopefully be, but I don't see that many payers will be asked to pay the £40 you quote and if they are true supporters then after a ten year wait they will " stump up" for this one off, against our favourite adversaries.
Hopefully despite our differing opinions on this topic we both enjoy next Saturday

Ah, cheers Nthsuffolkblue - thought it was 15% (used to be, like FA Cup matches).

Fat_Boy_Tim added 23:55 - May 2
You haven't had to pay for one of these matches for 10 flipping years so if they charged £100 a ticket it would still only be £10 a season. PR will be full with 30311 fans but not the 12 whingers on here, so be it!

Norwich charge £100 more for their cheapest season ticket. So we're still better off....

I think this pricing says it all, support the cluib all season and then when it comes to what is the biggest game of the season ....kick the fans in the wallet, it should be the same as the other lots pricing structure, it seems they are valueing their fans support?

LegendofthePhoenix added 07:00 - May 3
I'm guessing that the scum can afford to have cheaper tickets cos they are awash with parachute money and we're not. It is what it is, but we'll pay it and watch our boys stuff the scum. COYB.

News Flash!!

We live in a capitalist country that works on the basis of making the maximum amount of profit for the smallest possible outlay.

Further, professional football clubs are part of this system and are not charities. They don't belong to the fans any more than any other company 'belongs' to its customers.

By definition, therefore, all companies will as a matter of course charge more whenever they feel the customers will pay more.

Ergo, the first play-off in ten years will be a rare chance for them to 'cash-in' and they will take the opportunity of doing so.

Customers, of course, are free to remove their custom and the companies won't care because other customers will readily step up.

If you don't like the system you can, of course, start a communist revolution. In the meantime, THIS IS HOW THINGS ARE.

If anyone not going or unhappy about prices cares to purchase two for me before Wednesday?

I go consistently but have no season ticket or membership and its squeaky bum time waiting for the scraps of there are any!

So excited.

If a home play off semi final against Norwich is not a category A game I don't know what is.

I don't remember ever getting a reduced price for play offs or FA cup matches as a season ticket holder.

Offering ~15,000 season ticket holders a discount of a tenner would cost 150,000. That's a Freddie Sears transfer fee. Or 3 grand a week for a new signing.
