Bradford Eyeing Ando
Monday, 27th Jul 2015 10:11

League One Bradford City are the latest club to show interest in signing released Blues winger Paul Anderson, TWTD understands.

Anderson, 27, has been training with Scunthorpe United, having been told no contract was on offer at Town at the end of the season but that a deal might be on the table later in the summer.

However, no new terms were forthcoming and the former Hull City, Liverpool and Bristol City man currently remains without a club.

Fulham and Wigan both showed interest in the midfielder, who scored Town’s goal in the first leg of the play-off semi-final against Norwich City, and Birmingham were linked, while he turned down an offer from Charlton earlier in the summer.

Hope he ends up with a Championship club, will look forward to welcoming him back this season. Charlton would've been a good club for him, time is running out though for him to get a decent pre-season in

Odd to turn down Charlton. Fair enough though, it's his life. Great guy by all accounts, just not cut out for a top 6 push in my opinion.

Unbelievable , what would be the difference between for example chambers and anderson at right back. Apart from anderson has delivery and pace. He also gave his all , whats the difference between tabb and anderson . Whilst he may not be what MM is looking for i can't believe another championship club would not be his destination. He was our highest scoring midfield player and hardly played.

He's better than league 1, easily a good player for a bottom half/mid table Championship team

I wonder if he turned down Charlton because he thought Mick might offer him something.

Getting late in the pre-season now so needs to find a club. Such a shame we don't want him as others have said he is as good as Tabb and had many assists last season. He would have been a good squad player. I hope he finds a Championship club but it looks doubtful now.

Good luck Ando and thanks for all your hard work for us!

maybe he wants to stay up north ? which is why he turned down Charlton ?

Brighton away was his undoing with MM - I liked him but with other some of the wide men additions we have made I am not sure he would have started many games or even been in the 16 ? Good luck to him

Although I agree that he is better than League 1, Bradford would be a good club where he could be established and also perform in front of a large crowd every week. (Bradford have sold over 18k season tickets for next year!)

Good luck Ando!

It is a shame that there was nothing on the table for him here-and NOT just because of the playoff goal.
He was a good squad member and at times good player for us.
Hope he finds something that suits him.
Good luck Ando.

I like the guy.

I thought that he would be an option at Right back - after all he spent a lot of the season covering back to protect Chambo when facing a pacy winger.

Better option that Ambrose (different story two years ago !)

Whilst he never really set the world alight, he wasn't our worst player last year - and I think he deserves a championship team.

However - if he likes the North then at least he gets to play in front of a good passionate crowd who will love him at Bradford!

Good luck mate!

If MM is not getting a right back then I think he missed a trick with Ando. Even in the last game of last season he went to right back and did a better job than Chambers. We should have kept him rather than Tabb and converted him into a right back. We have Parr for left back, so all we need is really a versatile defender to be back up. IMHO

Agree with the others on here Anderson did okay when he got the chance and is surely worth a place in the squad as cover. Hope he gets a decent offer sorted out soon

Will forever be a hero for me just for calling Norwich "the scum" on twitter, even if he did go on to delete it

tbh, I liked Ando, gave his all.
But the fact is he is not good enough for the level we want to get to, this is demonstrated by the clubs that are interested in him (Bradford City).

Don't get me wrong, Anderson isn't brilliant nor a game changer, but he does offer something different, scores an odd goal and creates something. He offers more than Tabby.

Nice guy, hope he finds a club. Lots of huff & puff with no t much enough end product. Although when he was on song he did try to keep the ball on the deck & engineer some 1-2's which is more than some. Thanks for the goal against the Budgies.

That's his level imo. Always worked hard for the team and never let the club down. Not a Championship player and certainly doesn't have any pace... Good Luck to the lad
