We need a decent playmaker to go with the striker and they should be bought not loaned. Nowadaysyou have to put a "downpayment" for a loan player so with 6 of them we must be forking out a pretty packet for these. ffs dont buy fallon after loan finished.

I'm sorry but they can stick it, i wouldn't sell him. I would rather keep him and try and get into the premiership which would earn us £60m odd. Then he would sign a new contract and with a season in the premier league under him he would be worth more. If we don't go up then sell him IMO.
Personally he is the only reason I renewed this year, the 3 people i go with didn't renew so as a non driver i'm on the train this year. If he is sold for me that's it, it'll save on the train fare. |

That healy purchase was definately to help Cork out, which in the end was a waste of time, I wouldn't want him playing for the mighty Lowestoft let alone Ipswich, not when Lowie have got Gary Holt :)
Regarding Gillett, i hope they are barking up the wrong tree and it's actually Lallana, now there is a midfielder to wet the appetite!! |

totally agree with cbower - what has happened to our scouting system?? we rely too heavily on bringing youth through the ranks but they need time to step up from the youth league. do we actually employ scouts anymore? i'm sure that when we bought marcus stewart halfway through the promotion season most people didn't rate him or hadn't heard him, the same with david johnson.
we should be looking at a striker with attributes that we are currently lacking - a striker with pace is a must, we haven't had one since bent left and simeon jackson fits the bill perfectly. i hate the people who say " not proven in the championship" and campbell is a good example. A goalscorer is a goolscorer no matter what league they play in. A punt on a lower league player is a good option. They will have a desire to play in a higher league, which is a lot more than i have seen from priskin this season, who for me is very lazy in an almost marcus bent style way, i think he has a "i'll just collect my money and not bother " attitude IMHO. |

Totally and utterly agree 100%. You hit the nail on the head, never given the opportunity after being praised during the summer. I'm not pro or anti keane but what the way the whole rhodes thing was handled really gets to me. Especially when those on here just say "never scored in this league" etc.
This club has a history of selling on the cheap and buying total and utter pants to replace them, especially the last 15 years (le pen, fish & skard to name just a few). |

another honest assessment from keane. i think he has been trying to kid himself it wasn't as bad as it was but has now realised he can't brush it aside anymore.
bit of a u-turn though regarding signings though. last week he said side was settled and no more players coming and now it seems like it could be like rush hour on the m25 next week. i think from what we've witnessed these last 4 games his task is harder than he thought it would be. if he's short of funds he can borrow some of the £3500 i won on the fixed odds today :) |
