Would have said a few seasons ago that Didz was the man to build the team around as he seemed to be a cut above everyone else but injuries etc have pretty much paid to that and he is looking less and less interested by the game at the min. I dont blame McGoldrick if he does leave this month though as I am sure he is keen to get his long term future sorted out ASAP and whilst there is uncertainty surrounding Mick and whether a new manager would potentially even want him, maybe he thinks he owes it to himself to pursue a new deal else where. As you said, a new footballing coach that would put the emphasis on a passing game would breath such fresh life into a well assembled squad and the likes of Dozzell, Nydam, Huws, Webster etc would really reap the benefits. Fingers crossed we get that kind of appointment in the summer. |

Agree, actually think we look a better balanced team with out him these days and his selfishness really annoys me some games, there will often be a better pass on but he will greedily just shoot or try and run it round another player and then end up losing it. Not saying he isnt technically very gifted but do think that maybe its time to let him go and look to the future. I believe he is now one of the highest earners at the club so the money saved would be fairly substantial too. Doubt we would get much of a transfer fee this window though, £250k maybe if we are lucky??? |
| Forum Reply | Talking about the Celina goal last Saturday, what is the best Ipswich goal you at 09:34 18 Jan 2018
Depends on how you define 'the best' but some memorable goals for me were: Priskin against Arsenal - Purely just because I work with a lot of Arsenal fans so that made it all the sweeter winning that night. Armstrong against Inter - Big fan of a good headed goal. Counago against Coventry (3-2, 97th min winner) Great chip over the keeper. I could pick any of Lawrences goals from last season or Ryan Frasers goal against Preston was pretty special to name a few. I remember Carlos Edwards scoring a pretty amazing screamer as well-think it was against Millwall? Celinas goal probably has to be up there as one of the best though. |

Out for the season, the club is just down playing it though for some reason |

Much needed win but we beat ten man Leeds-and only just IMO! We seemed to make an awful meal of it considering we were at home as well, even then we almost looked to throw that away at the end. Agreed that the atmosphere was cracking and was like being back in the stands in the 90's again. I personally think the play-off talk is a bit far fetched even though we are 4 points off. Us and 7 other teams are currently vying for that 6th spot as it stands. When you look at the teams above us (Fulham, Middlesbrough etc) they have a lot more than us in squad depth and quality and I genuinely cant see us being anywhere near that top 6 come the crunch time of the season with our current squad & numerous injuries. Worryingly Waghorn hasnt scored in the last 8 games with his last goal coming against Nottingham Forest on the 2nd December, he badly needs a goal again soon. Kudos to Celina for that goal on Saturday though, think that will probably take the goal of the season award and deservedly so. |

As Phil says, seems like a genuine injury. Smith on the other hand, as soon as a replacement is signed and if Mick is still here then I am sure he will be off IMO. |
| Forum Reply | Adeyemi - MM said his fitness is not his priority? at 14:36 12 Jan 2018
Thought for a while there is definitely something else going on there with Adeyami whether its been a falling out or possibly an addiction problem etc of some problem which the club is covering up. For Mick to come out and say that is poor man management in my eyes. I have heard a few rumours that Micks time here may well depend on the result/performance tomorrow and that might explain the "not my priority at the moment" comment. Still a strange comment either way. |

Yes, he has covered those losses for a number of years. Now all that's happened is that we will still have the same budget etc, he will just put less of his own money into the club each year where that extra money should be going towards improving all areas of the club. I would wager anything that Mick or the new manager will not be given any more of a budget than we currently have and thats the point I am trying to make which saddens me, considering this should be good news for the club and a much needed boost for the transfer funds etc. |

Massive Titans fan so will defintiely be going to Wembley for that one. Am tempted to go and see the Raiders as well though. |

Not with the money generated from this sponsorship deal. Those deals just prove that there are bargains to be had out there and that this money could prove very valuable for Mick or a new manager coming in. It needs to re-invested IMO, not just lost in the black hole with the rest of the transfer fees accumulated over the years. [Post edited 11 Jan 2018 16:03]

We do need as much as possible but the club and the first team will never see the benefits of deals like this whilst Evans is in charge. Any owner needs to take this money and invest it into the first team, academy and to take us forward, the same with any transfer dealings received but no I am sure we will invest it wisely into some more loan signings & f*ck all else as per usual. |

Quizzed if the money raised from the deal, which the club describes ‘close to £2m’, will go into Mick McCarthy’s first-team budget, he said: “Good question. It certainly goes into the club. Safest best I will ever make. |
