Was there an offside in build up to penalty too? Looked like one of those that Prem linos leave to VAR.

Take the 3pts, performances are secondary this time of the season
at 10:42 30 Mar 2024

Yesterday's subs are fine when we are attacking but no good when we haven't got the ball. The Al-Hamadi, Sarmiento, Hutchinson line up is far to inexperienced when the opposition have the ball. They just get a free run at the defence and no hold up play to give the defenders a break. Happened at Cardiff, Blackburn and at least once at home (Rotherham?). Harness was the sub we needed yesterday, late in a game he gives shape and know how..Plymouth away. We can't afford another Cardiff.

Ok own up - who wished we’d be top
at 08:49 30 Mar 2024

I think quite a few of us predicted a really strong season and a possible shot at promotion. We were clearly looking a full division above league 1 by the end.
But 84 points with 7 to go, going head to head with two crazy strong championship teams, top of league with 7 to go, 100 points quite possible...that is the bit that is 'bonkers' (as a past manager might have called it).

The flat atmosphere
at 07:56 15 Jan 2024

The move to block A hasn't worked. Don't think Blue Action are anywhere near as continuous noise up there, long quiet, then a song, followed by long quiet. Get them behind a goal.

Grounds you’d love to visit when we get promoted to the PL
at 07:53 8 Jan 2024

Not big allocations considering the demand we would have.
Unless it has changed the rule is 10% of capacity or 3000 whichever is bigger. So if a ground holds more than 30,000 they have to give 3000 and only more if they choose to do so, and why would they when they can sell to home fans? So 3000 for Spurs or West Ham.. we could sell at least 10k for those in 1st season up.
For cup matches the rules are different. They have to give 15%, that's why you see those 9000 away days at the big stadiums. Cup draw tonight is the best hope for some of us who can't get loads of points for various reasons.
By the way..if those rules are right I think we would have to give 2900, so away end at PR would need to grow I think?

Something Norwich fans have yet to explain
at 20:10 17 Dec 2023

I thought it was '2-1 on your big day out' which is even more weird..of course its our big day out, their's too. Always has been, always will be, the only rivalry that matters in East Anglia.
If the return game isn't their big day out they might as well pack up cos they have f all else to get out of the season.
Must improve their banter if they want to hurt.
Oh and it is so cold in their shadow..hating every minute of it

Surely in that context getting caught out of position often results in being exploited round the back?

I know this is a light hearted thread but what they would actually say is 'I was operating on a shoestring and never had a chance. if I'd been funded properly...blah, blah, blah'

Who went to Norwich v Ipswich in the FA Cup 1983
at 19:48 19 Sep 2023

How we lost that day still hurts. We bossed the whole game; they had one chance and stole it.
The away end was crazy. Coins coming across all afternoon. Fences up to the roof so all you could hear was coins pinging off the metal but plenty got through. Could have picked up a week's wages in change by the end.
It was a violent atmosphere but I don't remember any fighting in the ground.
Other than that all I remember is the back of the stand being chaos and scrambling up a grass bank to get in.

Stadium Improvements

Bristol City have just got permission for a 'sports quarter'. This was Ashtons baby when he was there.
5000 seat arena but loads of offices and residential too. Not sure I would want to see the old practice pitch covered in apartments but I assume something similar is his vision when he talks about a shared plan with the council and the car park on Portman Road.
I think it could be a little controversial when the plans arrive. Doesn't make it a bad thing just won't be all about us fans.

There was two bursts of booing. A smaller burst on the half time whistle, then loads when he walked off. Clearly no confusion on the 2nd boos that was for the sh!t ref. The first boos were a bit confusing. But as he had just made another sh!t decision I would say there is far more chance it was an instant response to the ref rather than any knobheads booing the players. Especially as they got a really good reception going off.

Replacing one Radio Suffolk stalwart with another does seem a bit of a miss. It is all a little safe.

To add to the list of previous matchday presenters, Bryan Knights did the Robson era yes?

Cobbold stand under Construction..
at 08:42 4 Aug 2023

And the terrace was replaced in the summer in the summer of 78. The exec boxes went in and they couldn't have people standing in front. I remember it caused chaos at 1st home game v Liverpool, night didn't get better, we lost 3-0. Muhren's home debut so turned out great later!

The side terraces down East and West / Pioneer were great for a view of the match.

Old ITFC programmes to shft

Yep as per previous reply value is sadly often nothing these days. Only a few still collect and for regular programmes the market is flooded on ebay. A long forgotten friendly is worth a lot more than a big match.
