Lincoln have a full sized turf field behind their main stand like Town.

I didn't get it (yet), waiting to see the feedback on it before spending. So any feedback welcome.

No commentary is no issue, do I want to listen to that?

US fans have you brought the steaming package thing yet?
at 00:34 3 Aug 2017

I'm still holding off, not convinced the coverage will be great, and we already know the footy will be awful enough without poor coverage.

Also, have to find out what the match replays are like, working a lot of Saturday mornings means I might need those.

I am considering it, don't see as many games living in New Jersey, and not waiting for promotion anymore so that I can watch all the games on NBC.

Only stumbling for me is the match replays? I sometimes work Saturday mornings when the games are on, and watch a load or dvr'd games I the afternoon and evening. Any idea if they will be full replays or just highlights, and will they be on there temporarily or for a few days as I might be away for the weekends working at games?

Mick's watching Hearts tonight apparently
at 21:54 5 Jul 2017

Mate at work who supports Hearts, listening to their friendly today, mentioned Mick was at the game against St Pats.

Might be taking in a game, catching up with Berra, or could be watching the next signing in action?

Just thought I'd mention it.

California Road Trip
at 00:27 6 Jun 2017

Napa Valley, a nice drive up north but worth it. The best part of Cali.

LA is nice to visit, briefly. See the main stuff, and get out. A couple of days is more than enough.

Santa Monica is a great place, awesome beaches and amazing food!

Time better spent in National Parks, go before Trump poisons them all. This is a beautiful land, and you can truly feel small there, perfect place.

What about San Diego? Like LA, a couple of days and away!

Still good for you, the players will benefit in the long run by playing and not watching, rotate players and rotate positions, it's about fun and playing.

Even we have days like this against bigger clubs, but we set achievable team and individual goals, this way, even the most humbling defeat can be a positive for players when goals are reinforced.

Parents, for the most part, are dumb when it comes to football development and don't see what you are trying to do. I constantly send team emails with our team goals on them and important steps forward. Informed parents can be the very important allies. With troublesome ones, I usually take time to talk with all parents over a season one on one, informal and brief, to highlight these and the individual goals of that player. This does help, and the better parents will help keep others in line.

It's hard when you're the small fish, but will be worthwhile in the long run.

Good for you, I work as a professional coach in an elite club in the US. Recently a couple of colleagues returned home to the U.K., and were constantly annoyed by youth coaching back home, so it's good to see someone doing it right.

Keep up the good work, and good luck!!

McCarthy and Evans Dilemma
at 02:17 18 Jan 2017

I really don’t think MM is the man to take us any further, and it has been a season to test the most patient Town fan, but…

He won’t be sacked, and should he be at this time? This season is about survival and pride now, I am sure MM can provide survival. If we were going to sack him, we should have prior to the transfer window and given someone new a fighting chance. Bringing them in now, gives them no time to assess what they have and add players needed.

I would be happy not to spend money this window, not a penny. The players we have can surely keep us up, and maybe use younger players when needed to give them a chance. I certainly don’t want MM spending money on MM players, if he won’t be here come September.

I don’t trust ME to get a new manager. ME has ran this club the way he sees fit and he has injected money where he can, we could be a worse state financially. Having said that, I don’t think he knows enough to hire a good manager to take us forward. He needs to hire someone now, not a Director of Football just because I don’t understand why that role exists, but someone in Milnes role who knows this world. I just think as long as they run this club, we will remain stagnant. That should be the change now, from the top and then through the club.

The only part of the club that fits now, seems to be the academy. So, I do like ME’s challenge at building that and running through the club. As I said, I think ME has done a lot, and although it frustrates me with his decisions on who to hire, I am certainly not looking for wholesale change.

Just my thoughts.

The other two are good, but Stephen Warnocks dad didn't play professional football.

Paolo Maldinis son plays somewhere too? How about footballing grandfathers, fathers and sons?

It just struck me too, Des Walkers son is at Forest, currently on loan at Stevenage. My boss is a Boro fan and thinks he's the next big thing.

Y'all missed Jordan Rhodes, hang heads people!

Also Devante Cole and Enzo Fernandez, son of ZZ but took his mothers name to escape his fathers shadow.

Does Bradley and Shaun Wright-Phillips count, step father?

Where to drink in Lincoln?
at 14:27 15 Jan 2017

Ciny Bank is an old style ground, with mazy terraced houses on one side; a river, fire station and training ground on the others. You can often find a spot on the street, or along the High Street south of the pedestrian area are some parking lots that you can use and walk over to the ground. You used to be able to park near South Common too, on the A15. This then makes it an easy route out to the A46 and out of Lincoln.

The Vic used to be my local, I was home for Christmas and live nipping in for a pint. Having said that, it's a hell of a walk to the ground from up there, but you can see it at the bottom of the hill.

NEW YORK...........
at 01:27 6 Jan 2017

Hi, I've lived in New Jersey about 30 minutes from NY for the past 12 years, always willing to provide advice.

If you're staying a few days, anywhere is good enough and you can get around easily on the subway. Manhattan is obviously the place to be, but Brooklyn is very trendy now. Also, just a short underground ride to Jersey is Hoboken, a hidden gem for bars and restaurants, there is a W hotel there too which is very nice and usually occupied by national teams and NFL teams when they play at MetLife. Weehawken and Jersey City, also a small hop on the underground (known as PATH) are easiil to get to NYC with good hotels and great views of NYC skyline.

If possible, come October. It can still be warm, and November can be brutally cold at times.

NY is an unbelievable place, and offers everything to everyone. Enjoy!!!

Remember that day well, they did bring a load, but not in the 4000 numbers and they didn't go nuts. Funnily enough, two mates came with me that day to support Town against their biggest rivals and just for a day at a game, will be there Saturday, wearing red and white this time.

It's a huge game for them. As I've said before, I'm from Lincoln and a lot of my friends are traveling down, and they can't wait! In all the years I lived in Lincoln, a third round tie against Town was always a little hope of mine, but Lincoln never reached that far. So getting this far, along with the fact that they are flying, why shouldn't they be excited.

If you do want to get them on hook, remind them they live in Grimsby's shadow and that if the "Cod 'Eds" were coming here, they wouldn't see it as a big day out but more a game they used to play year in year out, because they're a bigger club. See how many bites you get.

Lincoln Fans in Section 6?
at 17:57 3 Jan 2017

They do have quite an element of troubled fans, who go looking for it. I know quite a few of them unfortunately. There was a group of old men years ago who were know as LTE (Lincoln Transit Elite) who faded away, but have been replaced by young lads trying to live in their shadow.
