Does anyone a bit more clued up than me...

...understand what impact this could have on us? Obviously no points deduction this season but there's a reference to Leicester's rivals at the top of the league considering legal action.

A post of appreciation.

What a turnaround from the Huddersfield game, where he was hooked at half time and from then on his confidence looked shot to bits. He has been brilliant the last few games.

Improvement
at 13:01 13 Nov 2023

It is nice to be in this position rather than thinking how can things get any worse, but are there any improvements that you can see to the current side? It is something I think about a lot, and I have only come up with these:

The consistent soft early goals we have been conceding lately (and McKenna did raise it in Saturday's post match presser) are becoming frustrating, particularly at home because you give a team something to grab onto.

Subs - our substitutes have scored the most goals in the league, so obviously this isn't an area of genuine concern, but sometimes it feels like a game is crying out for some changes and we don't change anything until the 70th minute regardless. But again, obviously we get this right more often than not.

Rotation/team selection - it felt like we played a slightly weakened team against Rotherham - whether this is a result of rotation or team selection based on the opposition I don't know. But, McKenna said he had earmarked this as the game to introduce Tuanzebe into the side. Given the injuries to Burns and ongoing recovery from illness for Williams, was it possibly short sighted to play Axel there rather than Wolfie in his usual role? A right side of Clarke/Jackson already felt weaker (particularly with Omari on the bench) and, despite the game being an easier one on paper, we didn't manage to come away with 3 points. Must add that I was pleased with how Tuanzebe played, but do wonder if the result would have been different had we used Omari/Wolfie from the start.

But a great position to be in when I am wondering 'how can things get better' rather than the more familiar 'how much worse can it get!'.

Is he our most consistent player now? I can't recall him having a bad game yet this season.

At what point...
at 13:15 17 Feb 2023

should McKenna deviate away from his usual tactics?

His reluctance to change his tactics, in exchange for rotating his XI, to me come from a place of arrogance - my tactics are fine, my players aren't. Do 'performances' (4 wins in 15) justify the lack of flexibility, in the hope that eventually something 'clicks'?

To me, it is insanity to expect our fate to change without making any meaningful change to our tactics. At what point does a lack of change become unacceptable? When it is confirmed that we won't go up through the play offs? Or should we be looking to pull the trigger sooner rather than later and make the most of our favourable run of fixtures in the hope that we can salvage something from this run ?

I know which one I would choose...

It seems to be this simple now...

If we believe in McKenna enough to tolerate this season's failure in the belief that in the long term he is the best man for the job, we keep hold of him.

If we want to get up this season (considering any effects that not getting promoted may have on our squad, losing key players etc.), then he has to go and quickly.
