Keane Could Make Australia Move
Keane Could Make Australia Move
Wednesday, 6th Apr 2011 11:27

Former Town boss Roy Keane is in the running to become the new manager of Australian A-League side the Melbourne Victory.

Keane, 39, is understood to be in the Victorian capital at the moment, but is amongst a number of names to have been linked with the role, including Bosko Djurovski, the assistant coach of Japanese side Nagoya Grampus.

The Irishman, who still lives with his family in Woodbridge, has been out of work since being relieved of his duties at Portman Road in January.

Further to this morning's story, Keane was spotted at last night's Sydney FC-Shanghai Shenhua Asian Champions League match at the Sydney Football Stadium.

When asked, Keane refused to comment on the Melbourne Victory link: "No," before adding, "I’m just here to watch the match with my son."

But that will take a bit longer than 30 mins from Woodbridge to get to the training ground wont it?

Just about the best place for him..that or the middle of the north pole.

He's going to have a problem getting all his signings from sunderland over though.

Might as well change their name to Melbourne Defeat.

Perhaps he'd like to take a few of his signings with him?

Have the north Pole got a football team ?????? I expect they will make one up for him, if he does not get the Melbourne job. Is he still on jobseekers allowance ?????

Garv.... you are a div... He tried , he failed , it happens every day, managers lose their jobs, should they all never coach or manage a team again... no, they move on.

Sunderland - Success
Ipswich - Fail

Australian football is just about his standard ( UK div 1 or 2)
They also like overweight players past their best. Come on down Jason Scotland
Voted best goalkeeper in the Australian league is the old Norwich keeper who let in 7 goals v Colchester and never played for them again.
They also like players who ignore the ball and kick the sh*t out out of anyone close by. Danny Tiato is a prime example and they think he is a great player !!!!

Let's hope you get the job or you could be trying to ply your trade over here again. Sadly, not enough experience to do the right thing.

Gonna be a good manager. I wonder how many Ipswich players he will try to sign, bearing in mind his love of ex-players!

Noooooooooooo. This cannot be true. As my local team, I have 'supported' Victory since their first game. Yes, the A League quality is very poor, but with no other option apart from AFL, they are my second team. Please don't let Roy ruin another of my teams!!
