[Blog] The Wrong Ferguson? Written by Hailbeats on Monday, 9th Aug 2010 09:41 He may have won a few titles and some cups but what does the other Ferguson know about grass and drainage? Nothing obviously so Her Maj might well have made a mistake when she looked down the lists of Fergusons to be knighted and picked the wrong one. It should have been our own Sir Alan for the gong, not that overexcited red faced Glaswegian who is in charge of the Glazer Franchise FC. Year after year, regardless of droughts, frost and snow and even the odd stiletto-heeled pop star taking to the pitch during the summer, our Sir Alan has created and maintained the finest greensward in the Championship, if not the country. He must wince every time an agricultural defender slides across the penalty area gouging out a trench that could shelter a small battalion. But every half-time, Sir Alan is out there with his fork and his patent leather shoes, putting it all back and restoring order for the lads and their beautiful pass and move patterns (or maybe I have dreamt that last bit). Even the offer of the job at Wembley couldn’t tempt him away from the fertile Suffolk soil and his millions of beautifully green Portman Road blades. If only we had a football team to match Sir Alan’s commitment and quality. Please report offensive, libellous or inappropriate posts by using the links provided.
