We're now the worst in the league for allowing shots at our goal... 19:46 - Sep 17 with 2614 viewsITFCBlues

Whilst being the 2nd least creative in the division.

Amazing that we've won 5 from 7 really isn't it? But this also shows the need to improve.

And this highlights while we've got this great stat '5 wins in 7' and it genuinely is a great stat, it means that concerns arent moans, they are factual concerns.

Surely MM and his team will have this info to hand? Surely they must sit and think 'fck we've been riding luck here a bit, let's really focus on this'

Nothing wrong with a busy defence if you play a counter attacking game.
Good to see we have defenders playing their hearts out to get blocks in, and above all a top quality keeper.

Let hope with players coming back from injury we turn the counter attack game into proper attacks with pace and purpose.

We also have the joint 8th lowest goals conceded, despite all that. And are joint 5th highest goalscorers.

Town are efficient with our chances, while not letting the opposition get clean shots away or saving most of those which do get through.

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

I'm not sure it's a case of riding our luck as such, teams haven't been missing absolute sitters against us, it's more been speculative efforts from distance. Brentford looked like they murdered us if you looked at the stats but I struggle to recall a genuine good chance in our area the entire game. You can hit as many 25 yarders as you like, chances are they'll mostly miss or be blocked or saved.

We do need to keep the ball better though and that will reduce the number of chances we're conceding and that is an obvious area we can improve on, but I think we've only named the same starting XI twice this season because of injuries and illness and we've been bedding in new players so being better in possession might take a little bit of time. At least this season we look capable of scoring goals and that will help us pick up results whilst some degree of gelling is still going on.

It is surprising that the lack of attempts by Town has resulted in such a high % of goals scored.
Not sure how long it can last .
What isn't good is how easy the opposition get into Towns pen box although it says a lot for the defence & GK that they have kept the goals against respectable. Can it last?
The midfield still needs to be sorted before some team gives Town a right thumping.

Some of the shots on goal have come from a long way off (for example Gary Madines shot). A more important stat would be clear cut chances, that's more dangerous if we are low.
