Missed this song when it was released but fortunately Planet Rock play it now.
Although my passion is metal and punk the following tracks from the 80's are fantastic musically and lyrically.
1. Blackfoot. Diary of a working man (don't listen if your wife has just left you)
2.. Motley Crue. Home sweet home. (great if your missing home)
3. Government Mule. (ok not 80's but don't listen if you have a daughter who has just finished a relationship)

Maybe but as pointed out to PJH. That long ago is the stone age.

Like Motown you mean.

The 80s was diverse. It had its share of crap, but only if one was too idle to look beyond the Top 40.

At leasr you recognise that it is true. For example,Beethoven's music is even older, but its quality is still recognised. Age has nothing to do with music.

80s Motown is not a parch on the music they produced in the 60s. It is just a derivative of the revolutionary stuff they first produced.

I was talking about the 60s Motown!

Uniform music. No getting away from it.

"Compared to the 60s it is uniformily utter sh-te."

Pfft.

I like 60s Motown but to pretend it doesn't fall into this uniform category is, (politely), disingenuous at best.

I can only refer you to my previous point about the 80s being so only if one didn't know where to look and was continuously tuned into Radio 1.

Edit: I'm going to give the benefit and assume you're receiving my responses via Morse or something and that translation is being lost.
