Is it a new thing for managers to be shown a red card when sent to the stands? Don’t think I’ve seen that before. Thought the red just pointed to the stands?

Doesn't seem like they have to show a red card. Some do, some don't.

It's a new thing that's come in this season. They can be shown yellow cards too. A few managers have spoken about it. There's nothing new about being sent off, it's just been made clearer that it's happened.

Paul Hurst was shown a yellow at Exeter. The manager gets the card even if it’s the other staff that cause the offence.

I did not know that. Seems a bit harsh on the manager to get a card if it’s other staff being abusive
