As you say, the stand went to Foxhall.

Part of it blew down in the hurricane of October 1987, but two-thirds of it survived, but then was demolished in the early 90s as part of the Bradford Fire report regulations outlawed stands of that type.

If you go to Foxhall now, there has been a stand on the back straight for around 6-7 years, as Spedeworth bought a couple of stands that were used in the 2012 Olympics, but under them, you can still see the concrete footings of where the old football stand stood.

That stand had a fire in about 1975 which was put down to a similar cause to Bradford, a cigarette butt falling onto accumulated rubbish below. Fortunately, it didn't catch until after the meeting was over and didn't really take hold due to the weather, if I remember rightly. Think it was a meeting against Exeter.

The winter of 1963 was cold.

I remember going with my Dad down to Dovercourt beach so he could show me the sea, which was frozen for 100 yards from shore.

Oh yes the chicken run, first match watching ITFC in January 1964, sat in the corner near Cobbold Stand
Beat Oldham 6-3 in the third round of the FA Cup......yes a win
Gerry Baker scored 3
Relegated that season but watched 3 games that we won by 4-3 at home

The old stand did end up at Foxhall Stadium.

The construction of The Portman Stand(as it was) was started in the summer of 1971 and was in use at the start of 71/72 season and it was extended as you say.

The 38010 Leeds attendance was in 1975.

I was there! Sitting on the grass in front of what is now the coop stand. Just to the right of the dug out.

Poll: Right now, who would you rather have as Prime Minister?
