There is only one reason for first responders... response times. When I worked for the LAS, response time for red calls was set at 8 mins. If we didn't reach 85% of patients within 8 mins, the service lost funding. A seriously ill or injured patient should be in hospital, not being examined by a single medic who can't transport them. |
