There is no way they can stop the season and just say where the teams are in the table are the final poisitions.

Take the prem - Bournemouth are effectively half a goal behind watford at a arbitrary point of the season having played different fixtures. That can’t be the basis of relegating Bournemouth - their lawyers would have the EPL bang to rights. Even those up the road will claim they *could* have survived and no-one can prove it even tho they have been the worst team to this point. They will have to do what Germany are proposing - invite clubs up for an enlarged premier league next year so Clubs like bournemouth And Leeds are not prejudiced against.

Na I reckon we finish the season from September till Christmas, then the teams just play each other once each next year up until May, and have the Euros next summer.

That is another possible solution. Whether they "could" call it without legal ramifications would depend a lot on wordings in their regulations. Not sure if there are any that would be relevant. I agree with the inherent unfairness but there is always an element of that when teams play others on good form/poor form/suffering injuries and suspensions, etc. That is the nature of the beast.

I do get the promotion without relegation option is the least contentious. Presumably that would see 5 or 6 relegated from the Prem next season (depending how many were accepted up - e.g. would there still be a play-off behind closed doors or would 3rd go up?). It's all just speculation at the moment and a lot depends on how long the suspension of the league actually does last.
