I think I was away with the family and received permission to go to a pub to watch the game. I celebrated each Town goal with a pint of Stella.

I was at that game.
Swindon scored the goal of the game (Giuliano Grazioli (sp)?), and my aggressive 20-year old self almost got thrown out of the ground for being a bolshy nob (shurely shome mishtake...).
Even other Towun fans were telling me to stop being a bell.
I think 5 months previously we'd beaten them 6-0. Swindon is decent.
Watching Towun from 96 through to 2001 was excellent. |  | | |

The 6-0 was my second ever Ipswich away games following hot on the heels of WBA a couple of weeks prior (1-0 win via ridiculous Thetis overhead) - what an introduction
We must have had more fans than Swindon there that day - both ends behind the goal and an impromptu conga breaking out one end in the second half. My other memory of that day was Johnno somehow failing to get in on the act despite a plethora of chances - we really could have had 10 that day
Somehow despite being a somewhat part time away fan since (probably averaging 5/6 a season), I’ve managed to be at both 6-0 away wins in the modern era - the other being the inspiration for my username! | |
