Looking at the coverage- the behaviour of journos and photographers 13:38 - May 24 with 3285 viewssparks

around Cummings is disgraceful.

How can they challenge him on breaching the rules, when huddled together in a frenzied crowd, getting up close and persnoal with Cummings and paying absolutely no heed to social distancing issues. If Cummings has not already had the virus (and we simply dont know with certainty tbh) he would have every right to be furious with them for putting him and themselves at risk.

Thats an intriguiing summary of the OP.

Intriguiing in the sense that it bears no resemblence whatsoever to what was written.

How can asking questions be a complete misquopting / mis statement of an original post?

Why am I a "bootlicker" and what was I wrong about- but found difficult to admit?

Why are you starting yet again with stupid accusations which dont make sense?

So- which particular post in that thread was "whatabouttery and "bootlicking"?

Your comment was in response to my entirely reasonable post, not even directed to you, to the effect that the second trip thing could go wrong if there is no further evidence available- because reliance on anonymous eyewitnesses is easy to deny.

Agreed. Absolute tw@ts caring more about getting a quote or a photograph rather than obeying social distancing. Endangering each others lives, they should all be fined.

Are you okay? Your behaviour today has been bizarre and is getting odder.

Do you have some sort of boot/ foot fetish thing going on?

What is it about this thread and my initial comment, which deserves your bile this time? Be specific- and use actual things that have been said, rather than baseless assumptions which make you look silly.

What is the "look over there" in caps all about? Would you like some green crayon?

Weird isn’t it? It’s almost as if the moment you and Glassers CHOOSE to engage with me it goes a bit pear shaped on the board.

Doing the meme I posted earlier again I see. The first response to this thread (from LarkHenners?) nailed my opinion on this post more than I need to explain to you. But perhaps if I’ve upset you that much you can add that last paragraph to your signature for two years like the childish sulk you had last time.

Oh and on that note of your signature, posts like this are exactly why I’ve called you a Tory in the past.

Your evidently frothing for a row today so that’s my piece said. I’m sure it covers my feelings ok this and your questions, but no doubt you’ll accuse me of not answering them.

Still not even trying to address what is said.

Im not upset- but I do take a perversepleasure in trying to nail down someone being as slippery and disingenuous as you appear to be.

Perhaps, though, that is unfair- and what i am unwittingly doing is baffling someone genuinely unable to understand what is being said as opposed to what he thinks he'd like to argue about.

Second time of asking: "What is it about this thread and my initial comment, which deserves your bile this time? Be specific- and use actual things that have been said, rather than baseless assumptions which make you look silly.

What is the "look over there" in caps all about?"

You cant refer to lankhenners- given I have pointed out that his comment appeared to bear no relation whatsoever to what i said.... But you know that- and are evading again.

Mate, I have an opinion of you based on how you post. Evidently this upsets you to the point of wanting to host "Sparks' imaginary TWTD court of law" to justify that opinion. You could do more to change it by posting less stuff like this.

What DO you want to argue about Sparks? Because you've just admitted it and proven you aren't sacking self-awareness, you're just being a prick.

You asked why I called you a bootlicker. I responded you post distraction threads like this. I state Lanks nailed it. Is it really that hard to grasp? Do I need to present you a legal document on this matter?

You're not one to take the moral high ground here. You've got history. Like that time you lacked so much self-awareness you didn't realise I was parodying you and accused me of being a hypocrite. That annoyed you so much you had the thread pulled if I remember. Ahhh, good times.

Not your mate- fantasy land on your part there...

This is a "distraction thread"? That's your point? Seriously? Distraction from what? By whom, and to whom? Can people not have more than one view to express at a time, on a board full of posts? Have you even read the third post in this thread? Or any of the other posts on the subject? Are you seriously suggesting that what is clearly an entirely accfurate and fair observation, is somehow deviously designed to remove attention from other matters- which I have posted extensively on? You can only begin to reach such silly inferences by (1) having the pre suppositions you denied previously; and (2) simply being unable or unwilling to read or understand what is written.

Then you resort to more abusive namecalling.

The presence of those seeking the truth is infinitely to be preferred to the presence of those who think they've found it. (Sir Terry Pratchett)

There you go Sparks. That middle paragraph. That was all you needed to say to begin with and you'd saved me, you and the whole board a lot of time.

But no, you have to drag it out, you and Glassers will be off whinging I'm the argumentative one next and crying abuse. Oh wait, you already are.

I said you're "being a prick", I didn't say "you are a prick". For all the lawyer flare it would help to have a basic grasp of English.

Anyway, what's your point here? Because Phil's already said he's had enough of this and yourself and Glassers couldn't wait to rev up the engines today. You unblocked me. Glassers choose to stop ignoring me and went off on some weird abusive tirade.

I can be a right pr1ck, I have that level of self-awareness, you two could do with getting that perspective yourself.

What on earth are you on about?

Are you seriously saying that this thread was a deliberate attempt by me to distract from other matters, despite- (1) it saying no such thing, (2) explicitly making that clear in the third post, and (3) being in circumstances where there are a dozen other posts by me making my views on that subject abundantly clear?

Then you go into another thread and claim that I have said that the journalists are "the real crime" here. Despite having absolutely no basis whatsoever to say such a thing.

Your behaviour has been awful and continues to be so.

Did I not just say you cleared the matter up? Can you not read or are you still so desperate for my attention you want to carry this on?

In the real world Sparks, and not your professional world, people tend to just explain themselves rather than swerving by asking a barrage of pointless questions. Life’s easier when you do the former and more people will probably like you. Try it some time.

What question am I answering Sparks at this point? Because each time I answer you you seem to change the question or insist I haven't answered.

Right, let's slow down and spell this out because evidently this part hasn't made sense...

I assume that is your roundabout way of saying "yes I am suggesting that you posted a thread to distract from Cummings and to defend him".

Which is possibly the most bizarre thing I have ever ben accused of on here.

No it's not, you've jumped pretty far there.

Sometimes though just by unwittingly posting stuff like this at a time when we should be united in sticking the boot in does more damage than you may realise. It arms those who are stupidly loyal enough to want to follow Johnson to the grave with an angle. One of Trump's main plays during the pandemic has been exactly that.

Do I think you are posting a distraction thread for the reasons you state? No. I don't know you well enough to say. But do I feel are playing right into the arms of Cummings by posting this, perhaps less aware of the risks it can pose? Yes.

And that's where you end up with the word "bootlicker" being used.

Isn't it easier to have direct conversations and state what we think directly rather than asking questions? I'd be stressed as f*ck if I carried that kind of work burden on me.

Ridiculous.

The idea that one cannot comment on behaviour of journalists, which was clearly unacceptable, without detracting from the huge volume of valid comments about Cummings behaviour - many of the most pointed and robust being from me- is absolutely absurd.

OMG do you even read what I post?

I didn't say you can't comment on it. I gave you an emotional and logical perspective on how the post could be problematic. That's the point. The correct response in just saying you disagree with that point because I'm overthinking it and it wasn't your intention to post in the way I've perceived or XYZ counter points as to why my stance is incorrect.

Saying "absurd" doesn't invalidate my perspective.

Me and you are wired into different planets. I feel like I'm engaging with a robot.
