That's the saddest thing really. Farage completely mugged off so many people and convinced them he was something he wasn't. They're in too deep now and would never admit to being hoodwinked though.
All it took was a few photos of him holding a pint in the pub and they completely forgot that he's a Chelsea dwelling former investment banker with a private school upbringing. Real man of the people right?

As farage himself would tell you, he was NOT a banker.
He was a commodity trader.
Thank God I dodged the bullet of going to the same school as him; sharing his birthday is bad enough.
(He lies about his school too. He tries to downplay it by saying it was a big part of the Assisted Places Scheme. It wasn't; in the early 20th century Dulwich College, to get itself out of a financial hole, sold a number of scholarship to the London County Council.)

Johnson has largely pulled off the same trick of convincing the more hard of thinking that he's a man of the people. He is only in any form of gainful employment because of his place amongst the monied elite, let alone being PM.
