For all those singing Neil Warnock’s praises... on 15:28 - Jul 19 by C_HealyIsAPleasure | They don’t have it all to do, even if they lose their last game Luton, Charlton and Birmingham would all have to get results for them to go down (and Wigan not be docked points) |
So they still have worked to do then? It’s not impossible for all those sides to win their last game.

They only have work to do if Wigan avoid a points deduction and all 3 of those sides pick up a result, which they won’t

For all those singing Neil Warnock’s praises... on 15:26 - Jul 19 by C_HealyIsAPleasure | The improvement is illustrated He’s managed them for 7 games and they’ve won 3. They had won 9 in 38 prior to him taking over Luton have won 3 in 8 since Jones took over, and still sit in the drop zone (Wigan pending), albeit from a more desperate starting point I think both have done good jobs - and even if you do think Jones has done a better job that doesn’t mean the other has done a bad one |
Luton were 7 points adrift at the bottom of the league at one point. Look at the resources Jones has to work with at Luton compared to Warnock at Boro, there’s a huge difference. Jones most certainly has done a good job, especially if he keeps them in the division.

Which again highlights it’s not that much of an impressive job, if they stay up by default. I know you like proving a point with your stats, so here’s some more for you. Since Jones was reappointed in late May as Luton’s manager, 6 points adrift of safety, they have amassed 13 points from the 8 games, which equates to 1.62 points per game and losing only 1 for a side in the bottom 3 that is very impressive. A little more notable than Warnock’s record at Boro and he has the better squad to work with! [Post edited 19 Jul 2020 16:01]

They weren’t in that position when Jones took over - so stating where they were earlier in the season is rather irrelevant Jones has clearly done a very good job to put them in with a shout of staying up but unlike Middlesbrough they actually really do have it all to do still But again, even if you think Jones has done a better job that doesn’t automatically mean someone else hasn’t also done a good one

What on Earth are you on about now? Assuming you’re talking about Wigan’s points deduction, as it stands it will actually be Nathan Jones’ Luton that stay up by default btw

6 points from safety ok for you? Appreciate you might not consider it such as an impressive feat as Warnock’s Boro have made a huge 2 point gain on the bottom 3! [Post edited 19 Jul 2020 16:11]

For all those singing Neil Warnock’s praises... on 14:26 - Jul 19 by Chrisd | If Boro avoid relegation and finish 4th from bottom due to Wigan’s point deduction, I wouldn’t say that’s an impressive job especially with the quality of the squad he has available at the Riverside. I certainly take on board your point about us, but our squad was low on confidence, belief and quality. He probably would’ve done a better job than PL and I feel sure he’d have got better players in during that January transfer window that would’ve made us more competitive than we were. |
I think Mbro might avoid relegation by Charlton not winning at Leeds or put another way, by getting enough points to avoid relegation.

One thing is for sure, Wednesday night is going to be very interesting viewing top and bottom of the league. For excitement, The Championship has got to be one of the best.

Yes it seems that there are only two of the twelve games that mean absolutely nothing because all the rest COULD have an effect on second place, play offs or relegation.

Much the same way that we made the playoffs by default in 2014/15

Exactly the same, achieving what is needed to be achieved by getting enough points.
