Another cycling crash earlier... 15:32 - Jul 24 with 1144 views | bluelagos | Crash might be over playing it but as predicted, managed to fall over at a junction when I took my foot off the left pedal and fell the other way! Luckily mate never had camera to hand so got up before he could get a photo :-) https://localgiving.org/fundraising/Nick-cycling-LEJOG-FIND/

I was thinking carers, but yes stabilisers would be good too.

So today I headed to Tiptree to do a 34 miler to Danbury and climb Essex's biggest cycle climb en route. This run involves a few tasty (for Essex) climbs, a few narrow bridges (always fun) some narrow lanes (with tractors) so quite a few opportunities to fall off, especially if tired and needing to make a quick stop/unclip. I fell off at the first T junction about 100 yards from where we started. Numpty.

You're a whole load fitter than I am pal and I applaud what you're doing. But you do need to stay alive if you can. Are the stirrup things a good idea?

They defo give you some oomph, whilst making a low speed topple more likely. But we are hardcore us cyclists, cant get to John O Groats without a scrape or two. Tbf my other tumble was nothing to do with pedals, just hit gravel when flying round a bend racing my mate, as you do :-)
