As an angler it’s always upsetting to hear cases of pollution in rivers - it is often completely devastating to many forms of wildlife as well as fish. For smaller rivers, water extraction has also long been a major issue, with subsequent low levels and reduced flow rates in summer negatively impacting fish life. In angling terms though I’m a bit surprised to hear his opinions about the Wye. The Wye, like many of our larger river systems (Trent, Severn and the Norfolk Broads), has seen dramatic improvements in the fishing over the last few years. | |
