He's signed on for 5 years, which suggests he's not going anywhere soon, and the job of turning the club around is going to take far longer than folks on here think. There is not a manager who could be appointed and get us promoted within a season (or less). The squad is too big, as has been the wage bill. At this level our academy should be producing players who are regulars in a mid L1 squad. We should be able to bring lower.non league players through, rather than rely on worn out has beens from similar clubs. Without the money to pay them off, nor mug clubs to take them we are stuck with a bloated squad of mediocre players June 2021 sees 21 (?) out of contract, and a chance t start afresh. We need a better coaching set up. One that could produce a decent keeper or two would be a start. The wage cap should be a much needed wake up call. Younger players will need to be aware that to earn the money they have previously taken for granted they will have to up their game if they want to be earning CH/PL money. I wonder how many clubs above us last season had our wage bill. If it were lower then why were they above us. There is no quick fix - supporters need to come to terms with that reality | |
