Im in my 60s and I am disabled and have artificial grass as I cant mow regular grass. My grass looks lovely and its not an"abomination" Its not cheap though but as I said looks very nice and i have had plenty of admirers since having it laid and the grandkids love playing on it.My advice if you have not been put off by previous posts is to not buy cheap and have it laid by a profesional.
Waiting for a date for my back garden to be done. I'm in the same situation as you.... in my 60's with an underlying health condition that prevents me doing anything too energetic like mowing lawns etc. Agree it's not cheap but it's being done by a landscape company and I'm sure it will look great when finished. I just need something that's maintenance free and the grandkids will love it.
I don't. Not sure I like it. It still needs some maintenance (although admittedly less than a real lawn but then what do you want it for?).
Where I had an annoying little bit of grass that was a pain to cart the mower round for, I dug it up, lined it and covered it with stone. I think that looks far better and more natural than some green plastic.
