Clearly there is a level of football at which it is not financially feasible. To then cut your nose off to spite your face and say it can't be used elsewhere seems silly to me. Lower teams play with poorer pitches, fewer floodlights, smaller stands that are often closer to the pitch. You sometimes get multiball and sometimes not. At some levels pitches are on a significant slope and may have cow pats and are public land that people walk dogs on other than when the match is played (not sure if that is in the FA Cup at all but I guess in preliminary rounds it may be). Our big problem we are not realising is the level we are playing at and that is ultimately down to our performances on the pitch. We only really have ourselves (as a club) to blame.

Take today’s game, and put it in a premier league stadium, with the same ref, same incidents, but VAR is used. Was there a penalty? Was the winning goal scored by a player offside? Is the result affected by those decisions? To have it in the Prem Is fine - it’s the same for all teams, and it’s present at all grounds. In a different competition, where it’s not available at every match, it then means there’s not a level playing field throughout when it comes to the ref making the right decisions. The other conditions you mention aren’t the same thing to my mind.

I agree but we can't because we are not a Premier League club. So the only argument is to not use it where you can. I don't get that argument. Because you don't get it at a lower level I don't see why you shouldn't get it where it is available. It is not a level playing field because higher teams can use all the benefits of their better facilities, better and bigger staff, bigger squads and astronomically higher paid players. If Portsmouth make it through to the 3rd round and beyond and a Premier League club get drawn away to them, they will not get VAR. That is as level a playing field as we can get.
