Donacien, McGuiness and McGavin aside 18:39 - Nov 7 with 887 viewsWoolfenthen

the rest of the starting 11 showed nothing to suggest they should be starting league games, too many went missing for long periods of the game and/or showed they were just not good enough. Not sure what people see in Hawkins he couldn't trap a paper bag and Bennetts was a huge disappointment. Huws and Sears look shot, and apart from the goal I struggled to know if Nolan was playing. Just don't think the squad depth we all thought we had is really up to that much.

Donacien I thought had a decent game, whilst McGavin was a revelation.

It's pretty telling that i this 'reserve' side it's the first team regulars who've largely let us down today.

I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.

Norwood's cameo was encouraging

Bennetts looks alright but he needs to be linking up with the right people

Have to agree with you there.
Hawkins was useless today. Norwood at least was full of hustle and bustle making life difficult for defenders and a well taken goal to help his confidence.
Huws, didn’t know he was on the pitch. Offered nothing. Nolan, decent goal but other than that all backward passes and slow. Mcgavin our best midfielder by a mile. Tired in extra time, but should be pleased with his performance.
Edwards showed today how far ahead he is of Bennett’s in my opinion, pacy and direct. He needs to be on the left all the time.
Poor goalkeeping from Cornell for the first goal. Should have set a better wall and really should have stopped the shot.

One thing I don’t get with the first goal - what was Sears’ role? Either join the wall or go somewhere else, not just randomly stand outside the post leaving a gap.

Exactly. Just knew they would score if it went through that gap. What was the point?

I’ve never thought we had much squad depth in terms of quality. Numbers, yes, but quality,no.

Except that Norwood was injured again and is going to be out for even longer.

Has he seriously picked up another injury?
