Ball carriers 18:31 - Nov 22 with 285 viewscbower

Bishop, Edwards, KVY, Dobra and maybe Bennetts too are the only forward thinking ball carriers we have.. Pass, pass, pass with no forward intent is absolutely boring. Take Bishop out of yesterday's starting 11 (which it looks like he maybe for Hull) and with Edwards and KVY also absent, we will have nobody to get us moving up the pitch with pace and directness. Watching Sears quire literally plough a furrow trudging up and down the left to absolutely no effect whatsoever whilst Judge The Obscure wanders around, constantly checking inside and slowing the game down is genuinely painful. If Dobra can't get on the bench under these circumstances, let alone the starting 11, then the lad should have moved when he had the chance. Seems odd to complain, two points off top after 12 games but we are, Blackpool and 20-30 minutes here and there aside, very dull to watch.

As you allude to Sears has the potential to do this and did score twice at the start of the season when he was doing it. Unfortunately he is woefully off form currently. It also appears as if players that can do this are choosing (or under instruction) not to. I think Jackson is another who can do this and wonder whether Lankester and Huws might.

It is something we as a team need to do more, alongside playing much further up the pitch generally.

I’m not too worried about it as long as we pass the ball with pace and have plenty of tempo and movement to our game. Sadly, we don’t.
